January 2025Avon Gorge hotel du vin have the most amazing view around it , very beautiful setting. When we check in, the receptionist is very warm and friendly , make you feel so welcoming. All around, I have a wonderful time.

January 2025Came in for lunch on 24/1/25 for my birthday. First time at a Hotel du vin. Location and view was fab but the food for the price was a disappointment. I had sirloin which was bland a bit tough, with fries which were very greasy and not skinny fries as the waitress confirmed. I'm 99% sure they were frozen chips! My partner had the chicken which was nice but a small portion, and mash which was sat in a pool of oil. We noticed afterwards they have a fixed price menu but that wasn't offered to us. It was very quiet (only us and two gentlemen there at the time) but the service in our opinion was very slow. Shame.

March 2025I used to stay at this hotel 5 years ago regularly for Business. However standards have clearly dropped. Whilst it still has beautiful interiors, standards have fallen in terms of cleanliness and service over the phone - rude! Dirty Linen. Dirty Sink. Dirty toilet. Dirty knife. On the positive side, breakfast with views was nice. Full English and a nice selection of continental breakfast. Freshly squeezed orange juice was ace.

March 2025We stayed for one night as a treat for my husbands birthday. I paid for a room with a view which cost £240. One window in the room had a vague view if you were to stand on your tip toes and look over the wall. The room was incredibly basic for the amount I paid. And when I told them it was for a birthday treat they added 2 deflated balloons next to the pillow. It was an insulting gesture. I will say the bed was comfortable. That's the only praise I could give for the room. The location for Clifton Village is great but I would suggest looking for a much more boutique hotel. Coming in through the lobby also smelt of sick. We were so disappointed.
