The 12 elegant and stylish meeting rooms are bright, airy and elegantly furnished and can accommodate up to 250 delegates theatre style and 180 for a banquet or dinner dance.

If you are searching for a quirky venue, full of character for a conference, meeting or private dinner, then the Wine Cellars are ideal. Legend has it that these eerie old caves, deep in the heart of the hotel, were once used by smugglers to hide their booty; now carefully restored they provide a wonderful, atmospheric backdrop for private parties.

Dating back in parts to 1559, The Old Ship Hotel is the oldest hotel in Brighton and stands proud on the bustling seafront in this popular British destination.
From its magnificent white façade to contemporary modern reception area, the Hotel prides itself on excellent customer service in comfortable relaxed surroundings.

The largest suite in the hotel is the spectacular Paganini Ballroom, which dates back to the 17th century, and is the oldest meeting room in Brighton.

Message In A Bottle!
The iconic 154 room Old Ship Hotel in Brighton is excited to announce a new exciting look for its outdoor terrace, which boasts a prime sea-front location.
Brighton’s most historic hotel has decked the terrace out with stunning new furniture in preparation for the summer months.
This is THE place to have a drink and watch the world go by, with singers performing live music every weekend during the summer.
Not only will it look good, it will further enhance the eco-friendly credentials of the hotel as it’s entirely made from recycled plastic bottles.
Each chair alone is made from over 500 bottles, definitely a very green “Message in a Bottle” to shout about to your clients!

As the name suggest this room is in the Tudor style with exposed beams and a large fireplace directly opposite the entrance. This room is situated below the Paganini Room. Access to the room is either via the Ship Street entrance or access is available via the Hotel carpark. This room is ideal for a break out room from either the Paganini or Gresham.

I had a fall on my way to book in and a member of the public gave me a lift to the old ship. The staff were brilliant looking after me. Special thanks to Sasha and Daisy both wonderful ladies and a big thank you 😊

Beds are very comfortable. Hotel is old, atmospheric, which l love, and probably not for those wanting a sterile environment. I love the nooks and crannies everywhere and would stay again. Overlooking the sea, albeit with a very busy road in-between, it's been perfect for our stay. Hot water, clean and not modern. But l liked it.

Just back from a two night stay.Staff are lovely and downstairs the hotel is lovely and full of character. Our only problem is the rooms need renovation as they are looking tired .We had dents on the wall,Towel rail in the bathroom didn't get warm ,Toilet roll holder missing but bracket still on the wall and a crack in the sink. Also could do with secondary double glazing but ear plugs were provided . All that said, room was clean and bedding was clean, just needs the owners to spend money to turn this into a fantastic hotel as the location and staff are brilliant for a stay on Brighton. Also great for dogs as we had ours with us and it is so dog friendly.

Fabulous location! Hotel is very tired looking and needs a complete update. The heating in our room wasn’t working so the room was stone cold. When mentioning this to Reception, they delivered an extremely small electric heater to our room. The next day we complained again to say this wasn’t acceptable and we got moved to a bigger room with heating! Our sleep in the upgraded room was good with a comfy bed and pillows.

The room was cold the radiator didn't seem to work but could of been because it was a very big old hotel. Paint work especially in the bathroom was a bit tired and chipped plus the bathroom handle was very loose but the bed was lovely and comfortable, it has got a lovely chip shop next door and it is extremely close to the lanes.
