Message In A Bottle!
The iconic 154 room Old Ship Hotel in Brighton is excited to announce a new exciting look for its outdoor terrace, which boasts a prime sea-front location.
Brighton’s most historic hotel has decked the terrace out with stunning new furniture in preparation for the summer months.
This is THE place to have a drink and watch the world go by, with singers performing live music every weekend during the summer.
Not only will it look good, it will further enhance the eco-friendly credentials of the hotel as it’s entirely made from recycled plastic bottles.
Each chair alone is made from over 500 bottles, definitely a very green “Message in a Bottle” to shout about to your clients!
As the name suggest this room is in the Tudor style with exposed beams and a large fireplace directly opposite the entrance. This room is situated below the Paganini Room. Access to the room is either via the Ship Street entrance or access is available via the Hotel carpark. This room is ideal for a break out room from either the Paganini or Gresham.

Went on a ghost tour of the Laines in Brighton it cost £55 pp and for that we had an hour long tour with riveting, spooky ghost stories relayed to us by the Victorian donned Jasper replete with top hat, cloak and medical bag. He was funny and affable and put such love and detail into the retelling of these stories. This was followed by a 3 course meal, copious amounts of wine and a welcome cocktail. All inclusive. Had a marvellous time. Throughout, Jasper and the waiting staff were courteous and welcoming. Not to be missed!

First with the positives - location is superb. Very close to the Lanes and our room was sea facing with a wonderful view of the see. Price? Best part of 200 quid. The staff we encountered were all delightful. As for the hotel itself the downstairs foyer are is ok. We were in 515. The room is worn out. Peeling wall paper, cheap bed and really tired furniture and the bed looks like something from Cross Roads. TV should be chucked in the tip. Ok for a period who dunnit, but if you are after somewhere to stay, you may well be better off looking elsewhere. Sorry to post a review like this, but buyer beware. As I say, great location and views (assuming sea view). Breakfast awaits at time of writing! 😬

This could possibly be one of the worst rooms we have stayed in for quite some time. The state of the carpets is such that you immediately check whether there are bedbugs and fleas (none were found). We had no heating and no hot water. There is no sound proofing either, so you too come back to your room at 4 AM with your corridor neighbour and enjoy your upstairs neighbour's morning frolickings. I would be interested to know how come the hotel has a 4 stars rating. The renovated bedrooms might be nice, but this was far from being our experience. The location is convenient, and the staff friendly, but I will never go back there again.
