Located some six miles east of the city centre, Blakesley Hall (Grade II* listed) is a delightfully restored timber-framed Elizabethan house set amidst idyllic grounds and with fine period interiors. Built in 1590 for Richard Smallbroke, Blakesley Hall provides a marvellous insight into the social aspirations of the Tudor middle-classes. The delightful grounds are a sight to behold throughout the seasons. With formal lawns, a traditional herb garden, an orchard and herbaceous borders, the site offers excellent opportunity for photographs. Modern gallery, barn & Great Hall available for hire.
Our 17th century barn offers a tranquil & traditional setting for parties and events. The space has original oak beams, flagstone floors and large barn doors that open up to provide wonderful views across the hall and gardens.

January 2025Really interesting visit - super knowledgeable guide spent quality time with myself and my husband to explain some of the history and then we were able to take whatever time we needed to look around. Office team were also really helpful as we signed up for a museum pass - looking forward to exploring other places across Birmingham and will go back for another visit to Blakesley Hall when the weather is a bit warmer!
