Stoke Place, Lower Garden Room

We had an overnight stay midweek, we booked one of the Rosemont gate rooms number 27, there was a few things we found surprising, no blinds at main window ( people could clearly see in ) so had to keep casement closed at all times, dust & cobwebs visual in the room, room was very cold on arrival & decor was very dark & dated. Also paid to have chocolates in our room, shown on website were a box of 10/12 Belgium chocolates however in room was 2 small boxes of 4 in each, which we’re definitely not luxury !! The staff were all very friendly & helpful, food was delicious and well presented.

Hooked up with an ex-colleague who was staying here. So we had dinner and he showed me his room which l thought was small but functional. The food was okay and menu was limited. I think the main appeal is the location as it sits in its own grounds. Sunsequently got a parking charge notice of £100 as I didn't enter my car reg in reception - reason why the car park was pitch black and none of the parking signs were visible and never saw any notices in reception either - will be contesting and won't be going back - soured the whole experience.

Food 1 Star. Stayed over night for a dinner dance. The main course was luke warm what veggies there were were cold because the plates were cold, not even room temperature below that must have come of cold storage. The chicken had a mushroom sauce, a table spoon full, had there been more the chicken would not have been so dry. The hotel could do with a bit of freshening up. Room 5 was warm after we turned the radiator up. Bathroom radiator didn't work. We did complain to staff about the food which they said would be fed back. Bar prices very reasonable for a hotel.
