Excellent facilities and helpful, friendly staff.

We very seldom have a totally hassle free trip anywhere, but this was the exception. From the minute we arrived thru the door, we were looked after 110%. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the room was spotless and the food in the restaurant was simply stunning. If their chef doesn't have a Michelin Star.....then he/she should have....delicious food served up by smiling happy staff. Overall a truly brilliant experience.......now if only we could have said the same about the weather.....can't have everything I suppose

The rooms could do with a bit of TLC, like the bathroom is a little dated and the room in general feels a bit tired, air con can also be a bit dodgy. But the beds are very comfy and the rooms are of a good size. The staff are very friendly and couldn't be more helpful, including the bar staff, reception staff and cleaners. The lobby and bar areas are very nice and modern with lots of comfy seating available. The hotel's also in a great location, plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. Only a 5 minute walk from the centre of town.

Staff are really nice.. Really liked the beds at Clayton and the black out curtains for sleeping. Rooms are outdated and the sink was blocked. Ok for a day trip and location is sound too just behind belfast city hall.

Unfortunately I didn't have the good experience of others ! My friend and I stayed here at the weekend ! Our check In went smoothly and we went to our room which was clean but basic for the money we paid for 1 night ! The hair dryer was coming apart at one end and a burning smell noted when switched on ! Apart from anything else it was a fire hazard ! We contacted reception who said they would send up a new one immediately so we went to the bar for a drink ! We approached the bar and we must have waited 5 min or more while the barman made a cocktail for another customer ! We were not the only customers waiting and He seemed to be the only barman on duty ! During this time he ignored us and never spoke or apologised for keeping us waiting ! When he came back eventually I asked for a glass of Sauviguion blanc and my friend A glass of Pinot Griego ! There was neither of these in stock which surprised me for a 4star hotel as these are 2 of the most popular wines ! However we got a drink and sat in the bar for about an hr and went up to the room and the hairdryer had still not been replaced so we contacted reception again as we were goin out that evening and needed it ! Again the apologised and said they would send it up ASAP! We went for a walk around the area and when we returned still no hairdryer so we rang again and eventually a new one was brought up to us ! Next morning we went for breakfast ! We were shown to a table which was laden with dirty dishes and the girl said she'd come and clear it immediately ! No one explained how the system worked or that it was self service The restaurant was busy and there seemed to be only 3 staff who were obviously stressed out with the demands of the customers ! After 10 min we asked again to have our table cleared so we could get our breakfast after realising it was self service ! Up we went to the breakfast bar and what a shambles ! No bowls ,cutlery ,mugs etc The staff said it would be available in 10 mins ! It was like a pantomime ! Eventually it came! The hot breakfast was cold no bread for toast eventually more bread appeared ! We asked for tea which the waiter eventually brought us but no cups or milk we had to go get our own and put the milk for our tea in a glass as no jugs available ! It was horrendous and everyone was complaining ! In my opinion this hotel needs proper management in the bar and restaurant ! We have stayed in other Clayton hotels and they were 2nd to none hence the fact we decided to stay here for our night away ! And it wasn't cheap that weekend £125 pp for 1 night . I do not blame the staff they were rushed off their feet and doing their best but it was obvious there was not enough of them at meal times ! I can Definately tthat on my experience would not give this hotel 4 stars or recommend it to anyone ! The only thing I can say was the beds were very comfortable !
