Mountain Park Hotel, Function Room

Poor customer service for an independent budget place, would not recommend. Having stayed here previously (it's close to family we visit), we booked a family room at this budget place months in advance. Our family of 3 were put in a small double bed for the night, despite a call confirmation on the day. Due to a late check-in there was nobody to talk to about it and the phone line's emergency option did nothing. The shower then flooded the whole bathroom when the drain didn't empty. The next day we were given an extra room, which wasn't ideal since we'd asked for a family room, but at least we weren't all in one bed - "we won't charge you for the extra room" I was told - I should hope not! We were also booked in for an extra night, which I hadn't spotted at booking time. Reception offered me a refund of a night, initially to make up for the extra night booked - but they then quibbled about which night they were refunding for and wanted to do some sort of investigation into what went wrong before handling it - it's not really my problem and shouldn't affect how they deal with me. They now claim I should not get any refund, despite it being clear that they messed up the booking to our detriment. They had a chance to make amends for the mistake that led to a bad night's sleep and us all being tired during our trip, and failed spectacularly to take it, no goodwill gestures and getting even the most basic compensation felt like a struggle. Poor customer service led to a very frustrating experience.

We stopped here for coffee while charging our Tesla, but sadly, the Americano and Cappuccino were the worst we've ever had - burnt and flavorless. The location is convenient to stay warm while waiting, but the coffee quality needs serious improvement!
