My wife and I stayed here for one night in a King Accessible room which was decorated and furnished in keeping with the property but still modern. The bathroom/wet room was beautiful. My only gripe was the damp/foisty smell which hit you as soon as you opened the bathroom door. I think it was coming from the shower tray that the walk in shower floor was on. This aside we will definitely be staying there again soon as the location was just perfect and the staff were lovely too

I had an amazing stay at InterContinental Edinburgh The George, but what truly made it special was the exceptional service from Andrew on the concierge team. From securing last-minute dinner reservations to planning the perfect walking tour around Edinburgh, he went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic trip. His recommendations were thoughtful, and his attention to detail was second to none. The hotel itself is beautiful, in a great location, and offers top-tier comfort—but it’s the people like Andrew who really make the experience unforgettable. If you’re staying here, be sure to seek out his advice—you won’t regret it!

We had an amazing stay at this hotel! The location was perfect, and our room offered an incredible view of the entire city. The service was excellent from start to finish. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. A special thank you to Monika, Stefani, Tomas, Jessica and the lovely Niki serving us at breakfast, who all made our stay even more memorable. Highly recommend for top-notch service.

I had a short break at the George over half term. The staff were absolutely fabulous - great service, totally professional but real people not some plastic corporate team. The rooms, location and cocktails are all first class. This is a hotel at the top of their game.

**"Disappointing Service Despite Good Location and Clean Rooms"** The hotel has a **great location**, and the rooms are **clean and nicely decorated**, which is a positive point. However, the **quality of service** is far from what you would expect from a hotel of this standing. The **staff** is incredibly **unpleasant and passive-aggressive**. **"Disappointing Service and Staff Behavior Despite Premium Expectations"** We stayed in a premium room at the hotel, but the service from the staff was far below what you would expect, especially for this price range. The personnel were **passive-aggressive** and lacked professionalism. For example, my partner, who is a photographer, specifically requested a room with an **unobstructed, beautiful view**. Instead of accommodating our request, the staff member replied in a **condescending tone** that "all buildings in Edinburgh only have 4 floors," which was far from accurate, as I recall this hotel having **at least 6 or 8 floors**. The remark felt dismissive and unhelpful, as if we were being mocked for even asking. Overall, the way staff interacted came across as unwelcoming and not up to the standards expected for a premium experience. While the hotel's location might be convenient, the level of service needs serious improvement. Not recommended unless this changes. As for the **restaurant**, called "Beef Bar," the experience was equally disappointing. The food is **overpriced for average quality**, and the service is very unprofessional. When we asked for the dessert menu, the waiter snapped back, saying, "Yeah, yeah, I don’t have four hands." Such rude behavior is unacceptable. The worst experience was during the **Christmas buffet** at £80 per person – a total disaster. The food was bland and reminiscent of **canteen-quality meals**, with limited options. The sides consisted only of a few Brussels sprouts and some potatoes. For that price, the experience was completely underwhelming. In summary, while the hotel has its positives (clean rooms and a great location), the **service is a major letdown**, both at the hotel itself and the restaurant. The staff’s behavior and the poor dining experience make it hard to recommend this hotel. **Definitely not worth the money!**
