December 2024Fantastic place! We stayed in the Manor for one night & used the spa the next day. Our room was clean & warm & we had a lovely view of the gardens although the shower was disappointing. The staff (especially Adam in the Manor & Claire in the Spa restaurant) were very professional & friendly. The food was excellent. We would definitely go back.

October 2024Beautiful place! The scenery and history is outstanding! Such breathtaking views and architecture. Amazing place to stay or to have dinner. Food was exceptional, especially the steak! Could not get over how stunning the grounds were! There was a wedding going on whilst we booked dinner and it was so beautiful to watch! The happy couple could not have picked a more picturesque place! Staff are incredibly professional yet friendly and helpful.

December 2024Came to Champneys for a five year anniversary treat with my partner but unfortunately it was not the experience we expected. Although the treatments were lovely and the food was delicious, the service from most of the staff in the Manor House and the spa, was very poor. Staff were uninterested, unhelpful and made us feel as though we were an annoying problem which tainted the overall experience. The spa treatments we had were very relaxing and the therapists were lovely, but the poolside itself was not the cleanest or the biggest, particularly considering the way it is marketed and the price paid. The curtains surrounding each set of loungers was filthy, the toilets in the female changing rooms were dirty and had a very strong smell of urine and some of the ‘clean’ towels were stained. Several of the locker wristbands didn’t work (my partners didn’t and others asked me for help as their’s were not working). We also couldn’t find a seat by the pool so went up to the relaxation room and many people were unable to find a seat in either! The service in Gardenia was good and the food and drinks were delicious. The portions, however, were small and despite having a three course dinner included in the overall price of the stay, we were informed by a waitress that most people bought a couple of sides to ensure the meal was filling. This resulted in many extra charges, charged to our card on a pay as you go system. Unfortunately the breakfast buffet was disappointing. There was a very small selection of food and it was understaffed meaning the two helpful ladies serving were run off their feet and queues for fresh plates and food piled up. The hotel room was ok but not up to standard for the price. It was relatively clean but the tile grouting was mouldy, the room was dusty and needed serious updating. The bed was also not very comfortable, again, considering the price of the stay. I would not recommend an overnight spa trip at Eastwell Manor. Even though the treatments were great, the other unsatisfactory parts let it down and other places may be much better for less of the cost!

December 2024The room was clean and nicely prepared; however, the wall to the adjoining room was paper-thin, so we could hear every word the guests spoke. The bathroom sink was blocked on arrival, which I sorted out, but it was prolonged draining for the remainder of our stay. Dinner was lovely, and the waiter was helpful. Breakfast was another story. We were taken to our table and left for 20 minutes without a word from the waiting staff. Only after 20 minutes and flagging down someone to order from did we get seen whilst other guests came, were brought coffee and toast and had their breakfast orders taken. We waited another 30 minutes for two slices of cold toast and a further 10 minutes until breakfast arrived. I had eggs Benedict with one cold and almost hard-boiled egg while the other was cooked perfectly. However, the hollandaise sauce was cold, as if the plate had been prepared far too long ago and left on a counter. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and it feels like the hotel is trading on a name and reputation that are no longer relevant. We did mention the issues to staff when checking out and the response was 'sorry about that, senior management are aware', which gave me the impression this level of service is a regular occurrence.

December 2024Booked an overnight stay for between Christmas and New Year as a Christmas present for my husband, to be told 12 days before Christmas (booking made mid November) that they had overbooked by a substantial number of people and there was not enough space for the people attending to have a comfortable experience. They wanted alternative dates (which they then couldn't do) so I had no choice but to cancel the booking as the entire point of booking a spa escape is to be able to relax and unwind. The overall customer service experience was poor throughout booking when trying to upgrade services etc, but they did issue the refund quickly which is the only positive. Unfortunately will not book with Champneys again due to this poor experience.
