January 2025Had a fantastic night there at one of their shows. Three course meal, Kylie tribute artist and late night disco with family. Food was very good including the portion size. The tribute act was enjoyable as was the disco. A little pricey but with it. Recommended.

January 2025I first came to the cumberland around 10 years ago,and had a lovely stay Check-in was smooth, the reception staff charming and food and drinks were good. Fast forward to 3 days ago. We were so looking forward to our 3 day twixmas stay. Check-in was good. The room was an upgrade on the top floor. So far, so good. But, the room next to us had a barking dog, and we couldn't turn the radiators off manually. It was far to hot to get a decent sleep so we asked to be moved. This was dealt with professionally according to what was available. We had another upgrade courtesy of the manager. The room was lovely. However, the bed springs on one side were gone! Wear and tear.... which meant i didn't sleep well that night. We were given a first floor room, the only one available, and later realised that a family was above us. The rooms are badly insulted and in some places the hotel looked very tired. The noise coming from the room above ours was unbearable, plus we could hear conversations, door slamming, and kids running up and down. Another nights sleep was lost. We couldn't wait to get out. Our final breakfast morning concluded, sadly with a man being carried out by paramedics and came close to losing his life from what i overheard.. I forgot to mention that the Seafood pasta i had in the ventana cafe was overcooked and average! 2 x Seafood pasta with 2 glasses of red and a sticky toffee pudding £ 78!!!!! NOT WORTH IT! I asked for some parmigiano ( just for extra flavour ) and was presented with a pot of old grated cheddar cheese that was past its sell by date appalling!!!!!!! I will not return to a once charming hotel that has become tired, run down in places with an air of a bad attitude from some of the people staying there! It's had its day! The staff were nice apart from a couple of surly ones at breakfast. Oh, and the breakfast milk was off on my last days stay. This is mot a 4-star hotel. Nor is it inexpensive.. There's nothing worse than feeling ripped off! Anyone reading this should check similar reviews left recently.. It really isn't a case of " you can't please everyone." The cumberland Bournemouth should be listening and making the nessacary changes to upgrade.... Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed 😞
