We are a Dutch café bar at heart and can offer a great private space above the main bar for your celebration or function; our large windows make this a bright and light space, perfect for your breakfast or daytime meeting. Each year we proudly celebrate the famous Dutch national holiday ‘King’s Day’, so be sure to book a table to join in the celebrations.
With a pedigree dating to the 17th century, De Hems takes its name from a Dutch seaman who bought the pub in 1890. Thus our history is strongly linked to the Dutch community and the Dutch Resistance who met here during the Second World War. We were a music business haunt in the 1960s and it was said that a place in the charts could be bought in our old Oyster Bar.
Special occasions, retirement parties, corporate meetings, a Board meeting, a presentation - this room is suitable for all events and offers an area suitable for 80 guests.
A separate roadside entrance, a private bar and the very best hospitality make this a venue not to be missed.
For a more intimate lunch or dinner, in beautiful surroundings on the edge of Chinatown......De Hems has something that other venues don't. Unique charm, limitless hospitality and a space flooded with natural daylight makes this a destination for all private dining occasions.

As a Dutchie, of course I would appreciate a Dutch pub in London. However, besides my initial bias, it is a very nice, airy and large pub, with a good selection of beers and friendly service. The upstairs areas are nice for catching up and chatting and they also serve some traditional Dutch snacks (although sadly no Vegetarian options, so had to miss out on that). The public is very mixed, with I suppose occasionally some Dutch people. They also stream Dutch and European football matches here in case you're looking for a place to watch the games.

This is the best pub in london. Great beer, great location and always a fun atmosphere. This is my local, even though I live in zone 5/4

Busy Dutch pub in Chinatown, decent selection of Dutch n belgian beers ++. Worth a visit if you're thirsty

Busy and popular Central London pub with a great selection of Belgian and Dutch beers. Dutch bar snacks are also available. Upstairs room used to be available for comedy evenings, but I have no idea if that is still happening.

Great beers, but the staff don't pour the beer for you. This is supposed to be a Dutch bar, but they just give you a bottle and an empty glass. Poor service.
