One of the most popular places in Cardiff with their beautiful Rooftop Terrace.
The Botanist is a botanical restaurant on Church Street, serving international inspired dishes, hosting live music and beautiful cocktails. Incorporating fauna and a simple décor, the brand have made a name on Instagram with features such as white washed walls, an abundance of plant life, and simple wooden chairs.
The menu caters for all diets, from vegan to meat-eater, as well as boasting signature hanging kebabs and puddings such as baked chocolate chip cookie dough, not to mention their Group Dining Menu perfect for family get togethers or work celebrations. Cocktails are as delicious as they look, the drinks have a gin-heavy slant. Along with consuming them, you can also take part in a cocktail masterclasses- perfect for hen dos, birthday celebrations or team building activities.
Located on the top floor of the venue with beautiful inside setting perfect for socialising with also access to The Terrace and a private bar. This would be completely private.

April 2024This place is absolutely stunning! Me and my partner visited as we were in Cardiff to see a gig. I love The Botanist back in Exeter so had to see this one. When we walked in we saw the sign about the terrace which stated we could take a seat and order through QR code so we headed up and got a seat in the sunshine. Service was incredibly quick it was fantastic! While sat upstairs we booked a table for the restaurant and headed down. We were greeted and taken to our table, we were seated next to a large party but that’s just something that can’t always be helped. We had a look through the menu and I had a difficult choice of which cocktail to drink! After our order was taken it didn’t take too long for the food to arrive and it looked delicious, we did then realise we only had one fork but that was a quick fix so no issues there (they were very busy and I work in the hospitality industry so I get these things). The steaks were cooked perfectly and the halloumi fries were to die for! I’m quite the fan of anything halloumi so love trying it everywhere I go and it had to be one of my favourites so far. After a very filling lunch and a few cocktails we headed back to the terrace which had filled up a bit but that made it feel more lively. This is a very long review but I was so so pleased with this place and would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

May 2024My absolute new favourite location to eat drink and listen to some music. Wheelchair accessible has a lift. It’s soooo big inside lots of options sit anywhere. The decor is stunning. Staff were all so lovely offered to assist help polite. Finished the night with live music in the bar area. There is a Disabled toilet.

April 2024A beautiful restaurant with a great vibe where you can have a romantic dinner or hang out with the girls. Fantastic decor. We went there twice during our five day stay in Cardiff.
