This was a second wonderful stay at this special pub. The rooms are delightful and so comfortable. The staff are kind, helpful and welcoming. Looking forward to our next stay already!

Great rooms and lovely staff. Breakfast was good but would help if it was open before 7.30am. Fab location very close to station. Bring ear plugs as can here trains go by.Would stay again for sure.

We went for a house Christmas meal and was quite dissatisfied. One of our parties is veggie and we weren’t told that the vegan Wellington had sold out until we ordered. In addition we ordered the whipped feta starter which was no where to be seen. My friend and I shared the roast sirloin and the beef was over cooked and the rest of the trimmings served was cold. My veggie friend ended up just having vegetables with some odd looking burnt biscuits which seemed like gluten free Yorkshire’s however she was discounted for the food. We wouldn’t recommend the half moon for food unfortunately. The staff were friendly but the food and the value for price was disappointing.

I hadn't been to the half moon restaurant in a while as I used to be very badly treated by restaurant staff. I decided to bring family members for a Sunday roast as the restaurant is gorgeous and the food is decent. I will not make that mistake again, rude staff, entered the pub and no one spoke to us, no greetings nothing. No smile from any waiter whatsoever and the roast was not as good as I remember. So all in all, many other options in Herne Hill that are better than this one. It's such a pity because eating in the garden in the summer is lovely and totally worth it.
