Good family free day out with lots to see and some interactive exhibits. The museum is based on 3 floors and the ground floor with cafe toilets and a souvenir shop. We really enjoyed the recreation of the old cobble streets shops. We both learnt some history, had laughs, took photos, and it was so close to transport links and situated by lots of restaurants surrounded by the gorgeous water and Canary Wharf There are toilets on 3 floors with accessible toilets ♿️ The museum is spacious enough to move around in my wheelchair. Have normal lifts and wheelchair lifts. The ground outside is cobbled due to the original history of the docklands Inside, they recreate the authenticity of cobbled streets and how the docklands were so in some areas it has uneven ground, but after visiting today, I didn't find it uncomfortable.

Very welcoming and friendly staff, a lively atmosphere within and clear evidence that this is a popular local venue with lots of facilities for small children(soft space play sessions/story sessions which I assume are bookable). Also well used by schools. Extra useful feature are lockers for bags etc(£1 fee). I went to the special Fashion exhibition which was brilliantly set out, beautiful clothing displayed and lots of information( via recordings/sheets/ screen/ displays). Well spaced out and plenty of opportunity to sit and take in info or walk at your own pace. Took me about an hour to go round. Not far from 2 DLR stations.

We visited 05/07/24. It's well located near the DLR line. Exhibitions are in one of the former warehouses. Accessibility is good with lifts to all floors. Covers from the start of the original docks industry, through the wars and eventual demise and redevelopment. Lots of info boards, recreations of street scenes and artifacts. The section on the 1980s revival of the docklands was the most interesting part I thought. Admission was free. There is also half a floor dedicated to the history of Sainsbury's which was very interesting.

Free. Very nice museum to spend an hour in. You start at the top floor history of slavery. Second floor has life like alleys with shops etc and sea sound effects. Beautiful paintings and ship models, etc. clean bathroom on most floors. Games. 5 pound donation 1 pound map. Cafe and shop on ground floor.
