We had a lovely stay at The Petersham. Our room was spacious and very clean, the staff were friendly, and the location was perfect– very close to a convenient bus stop. We enjoyed walking through nearby Terrace Gardens, and eating at the Hollyhock Cafe. Overall, a wonderful experience I'd recommend to anyone.

Excellent hotel, great service. Booked the junior suite and was well presented and great space to relax and enjoy. Lovely views of the river. The staff are presentable and very attentive. Looked after us well. Highly recommended. Great food and drinks. Lovely spot next to the river. Traditional and well looked after interior. Will be visiting many times again. Thank you to the staff.

This has become my new favourite hotel and I will stay weekly. A real touch of class. Great service, particularly on the front desk by Yordan and Miles. Food was fantastic and rooms are spacious and afford spectacular sunset views. Conveniently located close to Richmond Hill, Petersham and a good range of restaurants. However the food is great at the hotel. The parking provision is also easily accessible. 0 faults.

Unfortunately my experience was extremely underwhelming. The hotel left an impression of a greedy cash grabbing machine that uses its fancy looks and location to get away with extortionate prices for most basic food (the room service menu consisted of mostly sandwiches) and deceptive charges (my room looked different in the pictures and there was service charge for room service). My room had most standard shabby old fashioned furniture which was put there with no regards to personal comfort of a guest. TV was just randomly hang in the farthest spot on the wall diagonally to bed. There were some mysterious stains on bedsheets, blankets. The bathroom towels smelled like someone didn’t properly wash and dry them. For your information, I had to pay £200 a night for this unimaginative unremarkable room that would cost half as much elsewhere. There was also some unpleasant smell in the corridor. Perhaps it came from the carpets. The room had also some strong chemical smell that made me open up a window for at least an hour on a cold November night. I’d never had such issues in other hotels so it made me wonder what they did in that room that it gave off such a strong persistent odour. It is very disappointing when a nice looking place exploiting its reputation and appeal to trick people with no interest to their comfort or impressions. I strongly advise to stay away from this place especially if you are a tourist because we tend to be more a lot more vulnerable to hidden charges and deceptions when we travel to another country.
