I visited Derby thrice and all the time I stayed here because of one main reason, the location! It's close to the bus station, Derbion mall is 5 minute walk away. Everything else is accessible. Excellent location and it's 10 minutes to the railway station. Coming to the rooms, they are quite spacious for a standard room. Since I stayed for 3 weeks here, the hangers were not sufficient. They could check the duration of the stay and probably increase the number of cloth hangers. Point for improving the service I reckon. That being said, the breakfast is nice and they accepted our omelette requests everyday :) On my 2nd stay, I had met with a terrible accident and hurt on my knee badly on the day of travel and had to change the dressing for my knee everyday when landed in Derby. The receptionists helped me to get temporary first aid whenever I asked for it. Appreciate this gesture.

Absolutely Unacceptable and Disrespectful - 0 Stars! I have never in my life experienced such appalling treatment from a hotel. This place is an absolute nightmare. What happened: I left my room for a few hours, only to return and find that I had been CHECKED OUT OF MY ROOM WITHOUT MY CONSENT. Not only that, but all of my belongings—my clothes, personal valuable items, and luggage—had been thrown into TRASH BAGS and left in a storage room like garbage. WITH MISSING ITEMS THAT THEY COULD NOT LOCATE I was horrified. Who in their right mind thinks it’s okay to treat a guest’s belongings this way? The staff had no explanation other than a vague "miscommunication." You don’t just throw someone’s personal items and valuables into trash bags and act like it’s not a big deal or that this is an acceptable "policy". My belongings were treated with zero respect, and I’m still in shock over the utter lack of professionalism from the staff. To make matters worse there were even some missing items and that the hotel management refused to help me find them until Monday as it was on the weekend. My flight was the next day so this was not helpful at all. The staff was dismissive and unapologetic when I confronted them. They acted like it was MY fault for not responding to them as I was out for a few hours even though they did not try to contact me directly. Since when do I need to notify a hotel every time I leave my room? Isn’t that what I’m paying for—a place to stay? And also what kind of hotel policy allows them to touch a guests personal items without their consent. This was a total breach of my privacy. And an overall humiliating experience to have to rummage and find my belongings in a pile, tampered with, MISSING ITEMS. I could understand if they charged me an extra night or try to do something else but this bizarre situation has left me speechless. Also mentioning that this was on a business trip where the same poor treatment was given to my colleague if not even worse. This place is a disgrace to the hospitality industry. Not to mention the manager in charge was avoiding me the whole time. The rooms were average at best, but this incident was the final straw. I will never, EVER stay here again, and I urge anyone considering this hotel to RUN THE OTHER WAY. Save yourself the stress and humiliation. 0 stars. Absolutely unacceptable.

I had an extremely terrible experience, when i went for a work trip to the Holiday Inn in Derby. What happened to me was traumatising honesty. The hotel had forcefully checking me out of my room and took it upon them selves to put my personal valuable items in plastic bags. I would never go to the hotel again and my company will not deal with them ever again. Absolutely horrific.
