Great sound system and lighting. The toilets could be cleaner smelling. Good bar staff but could do with more to reduce the queues. Atmosphere is different for each event. Door staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely one of Leeds best intimate night clubs

Some very snotty young bar staff on last night. Also charging £5 for a bottle of water is taking the piss, just pure greed.

Had a really great time at the Varsity Darts last night; atmosphere and bar staff were fantastic. However, this was undermined by a very rude and overly-aggressive bouncer. My friend was kicked out for "purposefully spilling his beer onto others in the crowd", despite another person jolting my friends elbow, causing it to happen. The majority of people in there may I note were purposefully spilling drinks over others. One member of the security team accepted this, and my friend was fully cooperative and was then warned if it occurred again he'd be removed, which was fine. Despite this, another bouncer suddenly appeared as soon as my friend was about to walk back towards the crowd and an overly-aggressively bouncer pushed him out despite clearly being unaware of the situation at hand. I attempted to protest this, and asked for CCTV footage of the incident, but apparently they did "nothing wrong and that my friend was allegedly resisting." The bouncers are clearly out of their depth, and I was then removed for simply attempting to have a conversation with them about this. Generally very rude staff that clearly enjoy abusing their power and whom I believe "pick and choose" who is to be removed from the venue. Great shame as I have always enjoyed my time spent here.
