We had a Groupon deal for dinner, bed, breakfast ,and a bottle of wine. We arrived early to ask about the carpark. The receptionist was extremely helpful . She also checked to see if our room was ready( we were two hours early) It was, so we paid for 24 hours parking and took our luggage to our room. We had booked a seaview room. It was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The panoramic seaview was superb. Unfortunately, we couldn't open the window which seemed to be locked. The tea and coffee facilities were generous. Our three course evening meal was very tasty and the young guy serving drinks in the bar, was superb. The breakfast was excellent, with a large selection of cereals, toast, yogurt, fruit , pastries, continental choices and a delicious full English breakfast. We had misgivings about our stay , due to having read some poor reviews. However, we enjoyed every aspect of our stay at the Cavendish hotel. Our only complaint would be that the bed wasn't very comfortable. I think the mattress needs replacing, otherwise our stay represented excellent value for money in an extremely convenient and pleasant location, with friendly , helpful staff.

We had a lovely room with a nice Seaview with only a few negative issues. The window had to be closed with two adults as the window frame was highly unstable. The plumbing in this hotel is such that you get a roaring sound resembling a massive vacuum cleaning device, every time you flush or let the bath water go.In the bathroom you can hear this racket throughout the building which is rather annoying. Check in at 3pm and check out time at 10am is a joke really... Other than that it was an ok stay with a nice view.

Not a great experience here. Room was an exec but dated and maintenance issues were very evident. There was an all engulfing teenage party going on in the downstairs function room that took over the reception area and the bar. They were playing loud music so having a quiet drink was out of the question. The room had an empty fridge in it. I asked for a bottle of water but was told they didn't have any. They managed to provide a plastic jug of tap water with a cardboard coffee cup. Breakfast was a buffet with cooked option. The only waiter was grumpy and stank of cigarettes. The coffee was just self service instant coffee sachets with a boiler for hot water. Yogurts were left out and at room temperature. The cooked breakfast was ok but the toast was just warm bread and there were no pastries. All together a rather sad experience. The hotel looks quite grand but the overall experience falls far short.
