We stayed at this charming, unique hotel this weekend, four friends having a spa session and dinner plus overnight stay, and we ate (late) at the Brasserie. We had a number of complex food intolerances and were extremely pleasantly surprised by the incredibly patient and proactive way in which our waitress Holly helped to solve each request and issue in turn. Nothing was too much trouble - she was warm, helpful and thoughtful, even anticipating issues and providing advance solutions. The hotel itself is a feast for the eyes - beautiful colours and design everywhere, quirky and classy, and so much nicer than a generic chain hotel! the rooms were just as beautiful as the communal areas, and the spa was a joy. We had a lovely walk along the river on Sunday morning, and could not recommend the whole place highly enough!

I got married there 50 years ago. It was beautiful then and more beautiful now. I also worked there for a while back in the early 70s. God forbid if you had a run in your stockings. Inspection every day by a wicked mistress. Standards were high. I expect they are higher now. Good job. It’s lovely. Their high tea was excellent.

Lovely hotel, comfortable room and nice hot shower. Fairly quiet, near the river so lovely walks. Breakfast was a bit hit and miss as not everything available and some of the staff need a bit of training as they were a bit rude, obviously didn't want to be there.

My daughter's & I went for afternoon tea. The decor is lovely & it had a relaxed atmosphere. The service was good & the food was lovely. Good value for money & I would go back. Only 4 stars as the car park is very tight & we struggled to navigate the car out of the parking bay.

Already not happy at all, as arrived for a 2pm check in to be told the room won't be ready until 3pm. We are sat waiting in reception watching them check other people in ahead of us. No drinks were offered while we were waiting. We had also booked a spa session that we will now have to rush to feeling stressed, not the relaxing experience we were hoping for Attitude at reception is best described at blase, as if it happens all the time, just get used to it etc 🤔
