Built in 1816 for the wealthy William Hilton Cooke, Rookery Hall Hotel & Spa has continued to move with the times. In 1867 the ‘French chateau’ tower was added, in 1990 a new wing was created and in 2007 the property was enhanced with a health club and spa, stylish new executive bedrooms and conference and banqueting centre. Yet alongside these contemporary touches there remains something timeless about the house: a relaxed, homely atmosphere and service that makes you feel extra special.

January 2025I have spent a rather enjoyable 2 nights at the Rookery, We were given a room in the old part of the building, and wow what a lovely room with great views across the countryside. On the 1st day we used the Spa, and what a wonderful greeting we got from Kelly and Molly at reception who showed us round and explained everything to us. The coffee shop within the Spa is lovely with the same warm greating from Vicki. In the evening we decided not to dine but we did use the Bar and Ella was great in suggesting a sumptuous cocktail for my partner which She loved. Breakfast was beautiful with very attentive service from Helen and Collete they ensured we got what we wanted, nothing was a problem. All in all a very pleasurable stay. Will be back.

March 2025We recently stayed for our anniversary, our room was upgrade which was beautiful with lovely views. The hotel was clean and well kept. We used the spa which was lovely. The restaurant service was great, excellent drinks choice and food was delicious. Thank you for our memorable stay.

February 2025We stayed for valentines night. My expectations were exceeded at every turn with the staff. It’s a lovely location and the rooms feel great but the staff made you forget everything else. The service we received was far beyond what I expected and what I would expect staying in the top 3 in London. Special thank you to Rebecca in the hotel and Lisa in the spa. February 2025We enjoyed an impromptu brunch here yesterday after attending my father’s funeral. The manageress and waitress had no idea until we were leaving but they treated us so well; such efficiency and warmth, you’d be forgiven if you thought they did. Absolutely flawless service and attention to detail. Food fabulous too. My mother is a member of the spa and thought we needed a brief respite from a tough day. I don’t live locally but obviously I was happy wherever she wanted to go. I’ve worked my entire life in catering (both front and back of house) and this level of service was not wasted on me especially as it seems apparently lacking these days in many places. Not here. Susannah is a credit to this establishment (as is the other lady who served us, but I didn’t get her name). Very much appreciated and I’m sure I’ll be back. Fantastic

February 2025Visited for a spa day to celebrate a special occasion and would highly recommend. Communication and service was excellent, from immediately at booking right through to the warm welcome at reception and then every member of the team we met. All were professional and friendly and made us feel looked after. The facilities are lovely and the spa nice and clean. The hydrotherapy pool and relaxation spaces were particularly lovely and the treatment rooms are spacious and relaxing. The afternoon tea was delicious. We felt the day was excellent value for money - we felt very pampered and will definitely be back!
