Heartfelt hospitality enhanced by a glorious National Trust lakeside setting at Farnham's only 4-star hotel. Retreat from the world a while in this scenic spot on the edge of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, looking out over Frensham Great Pond.
Floor-to-ceiling windows flaunt the dazzling natural beauty literally on your doorstep when you dine at The Watermark. If you can bear to tear yourself away (tucking in to that succulent steak or pan-fried cod fillet), you can eat easy knowing that we take great pride in supporting our local suppliers and promoting animal welfare. Yes siree!
We get our Casterbridge beef from carefully selected English farms where animal welfare is a top priority; insisting on Red Tractor accreditation, we champion a ‘farm to fork’ supply chain. What’s more, our Norbury Blue cheese comes from Surrey’s only artisan cheesemakers, and our eggs arrive fresh from local, family-run Great Hookley Farm.

November 2024We came here for my sisters baby shower and it was absolutely gorgeous. The staff and service were amazing they were all very lovely and attentive. Such a gorgeous location! Beautiful inside and out. We had afternoon tea and it was all gorgeous and the food was amazing quality its so worth the money. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone.

October 2024The hotel is surrounded by beautiful natural surroundings such as a forest, lake and small beach. It’s great for an escape from the city to unwind. Many good walking routes available. The staff are friendly and make an effort to accommodate you and ensure a pleasant stay. We were a bit disappointed by the pasta, it tasted sour because lemon had curdled the cheese sauce. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

December 2024Great hotel with really friendly and helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Would have easily got 5 stars but for the slightly off putting drain smell in the foyer and our room heating not being on when we arrived. Heating was speedily sorted...it would just have been nice for it to be warm when we arrived. Staff at breakfast went way beyond expectations...and always with a smile.

December 2024I was a little unsure what this place would be like as read some mixed reviews before going. Our stay was lovely! The hotel is in a beautiful setting and it felt like we really had escaped to a retreat. The staff were friendly & accommodating. We had treatments booked in the spa at two different times, when we arrived, the staff asked if we'd like to have our treatments together, which we were so grateful for. The spa is small but had everything we needed and very clean! The cocktails were great, wine/beer a little on the expensive side but the food we had was delicious and could tell that it was freshly cooked and home made. The room was lovely and cosy, heating on when we arrived. The only downside was the walls are thin and could hear the person next door snoring, also the fact there wasn't a fridge in the room. Other than that we were very satisfied with our stay.

December 2024Disappointed, attended a family wake and no sign of any service and felt like more like self catering which was very disappointing for a luxury hotel. Bar area smells of sewage and again service was absent and when they couldn’t give us change, we were told they are cashless. The setting and area are beautiful and the owners need to focus on better customer experience and we hope they continue to learn.
