February 2025We stayed 2 nights to celebrate my birthday. We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a great position with a 15 minute walk along the river into the city centre. The room had a floor to ceiling window with amazing views along the river. We ate in the restaurant our first night & the food was very good. What really made our stay were the staff, attentive & friendly, particularly an excellent young man called Denis, who is a real credit to the hotel. We stay in a lot of different hotels over the course of a year & The Captains Club rates very high on our list

March 2025We stayed March 2025. Our room was great with views over the river, clean and well equipped. Hotel is just a short walk along the river to the High Street. The bar and restaurant were very good and food delicious. What impressed us most was the staff, friendly, welcoming reception staff with plenty of information. The bar staff and particularly the restaurant staff were happy and friendly. We would definitely recommend this hotel and stay again. Thank you.

March 2025Have stayed here for last 3 years on our wedding anniversary. Always an enjoyable experience. How many hotels do you know include a Bose music speaker in your room. Great view of the river, top class dining, friendly hard working staff in all departments. Truly one of our favourite hotels. Hopefully back next year

February 2025Our first visit to The Captains Club and to Christchurch. We were delighted by the location and the staff were very friendly and helpful. From check-in to the lovely housekeeping staff we passed in the corridor. The ladies at reception in the spa were also lovely. The hotel is beautifully clean, the restaurant and bar have a lovely view of the water and there’s a very relaxed, easy going atmosphere throughout. Will definitely be staying again. Thank you.

March 2025We stayed here for my husband's birthday earlier this month and I have to say it''s a great hotel. The rooms large & comfortable, the views over the river were fabulous and the location is spot on. So easy to walk into the high street or to go for a nature ramble. All the staff were friendly regardless of their role. We treated ourselves to a spa as well (main reason for booking) and although small compared to other hotel spas it was cute and intimate. Numbers were limited to use the sauna (2) and the hydrotherapy pool (8) luckily when we arrived it was just us so no waiting. We had booked massages. The therapists were lovely but despite stating how we both like the pressure to be with a massage at times it felt more like a tickle than a good knead. The only other little annoyance (more personal than service) was that the rooms being right above the bar meant that you could hear everything despite windows being closed. Trying to have a little relax in the afternoon was disturbed. Maybe I should have brought ear plugs with me. But on the whole if we ever decide to visit that part of the world again, we would definitely book to stay here again. Fab!
