Just came back from a spa day. All staff were so welcoming, friendly, attentive and kind. A big thanks to all the ladies in the spa and all staff in the resturant for making it a lovely relaxing experience. Beautiful views, fast service, amazing massage and great food with good portions.

We’ve just celebrated my mother’s birthday at Captains Club. Harry and the team were absolutely amazing, from Harry helping me get it all booked in, to the friendly and speedy bar team and the wonderful front of house waiting team. The food was fabulous, we were so well looked after and our family and friends had the best day. Thank you so much!

The Captains Club, simply Superb. It was a very special time for our family, we were looked after so well. Our room had a wonderful view, very spacious and contemporary. We were part of a large family group and the restaurants were able to accommodate us at short notice on several occasions...food is great. I'd like to mention Amy ( events manager ), Katie and Harry for all their help, both professional and very friendly. Five stars are simply not enough....A big thank you to all the team and we will be back.

Just back from a night away at the Captains Club Hotel & Spa. It is in a great location; however not worth the money in my opinion. Whilst our room had a fantastic riverside view it was relatively basic and I expected more given the cost - there wasn't even a minibar! The bar downstairs shuts very early, around 11pm. The bose speaker was also missing from our room, the toilet paper and tissues were of a very poor quality (really rough/hard). The spa was extremely disappointing. Around the pool/jacuzzi area the flooring was very heavily stained and extremely dirty - it didn't look like it has been hoovered for weeks! Tip: if you are arriving by car ask for a parking space to be reserved, we did this and parked very close to the entrance. Breakfast offered a very good selection and was served promptly. All-in-all a very costly night away and I don't feel it was worth the money. I was testing this property out on behalf of the travel company I work for and sadly won't be somewhere I'd recommend to our clients.

Visited for afternoon tea on 1/9/24. Location was nice and the restaurant is well decorated. The service was friendly but were really slow and we had to ask for our tea to be brought to us as they forgot to bring it! Other tables that arrived after us had their tea straight away. We were halfway through our food before we had to ask for the tea again. The scones were raw and we had to send them back, the waiter confirmed that we had indeed been served raw scones. We were then provided with replacement scones… which were also raw. The other parts of the tea were ok, sandwiches were plain and the cakes were very basic. Not what I was expecting for a well rated hotel. Parking charges were misleading. The parking notices says that hotel guest get free parking. No where does it say that hotel-restaurant guests are not included in this and have to pay for parking. Really misleading as you still have to put in your registration into the tablet which then says ‘permit issued’. You need to re-write the sign to specify if restaurant guests are considered as hotel guests or not.
