January 2025Excellent spa and hotel, stayed for my 60th. Spa treatments first class and food Excellent. Room was beautiful and clean. Evening meal and breakfast couldn't fault at all. Service was friendly and welcoming. Will definitely come back.

January 2025The hotel is situated on the seafront and in the summertime has beautiful views of the sea. The food was of a good standard, but it was expensive for a restaurant in Southend. As an example, the steak was £37, and then you added the sides, and the scallops for starters were £18. The service was excellent and they kindly deducted an item from the bill that was served incorrectly (ribeye rather than fillet ordered). I had a great time and would return.

January 202511 of us celebrated our friend’s special birthday yesterday and had lunch in the restaurant. The table was decorated lovely, the views of the sun setting late in the afternoon was beautiful. The staff are so professional and efficient. As for the food!!! All plates were clean which speaks for itself. If you go definitely try the mackerel tartare and curried cauliflower veloute starters delicious.

January 2025I just took my wife to The Roslin Beach Hotel in Thorpe Bay for an afternoon cream tea. The location is fantastic with views across the estuary and a large car park at the rear of the hotel. There's an accessible entrance from the carpark into the hotel reception. I can't review the rooms as we did not have an overnight stay, but the staff we encountered were brilliant. They were really polite, the customer service is as good as you'll find anywhere in the country & everything was spotlessly clean. We were given a table next to the window with a lovely view and the sandwiches, scones & cakes were absolutely delicious. Once you've paid a deposit of £40 for 2 people, you can request more sandwiches, etc. if you require. We will definitely return & would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. Lovely staff, a credit to the company, great service, 5* quality 🙂👍

January 2025We stayed on a Sunday Special package. It was a stay of two halves, unfortunately. Our room was very nice, warm, clean, with a balcony, overlooking the sea. Our bathroom was modern, clean, with a very hot, powerful shower. Toiletries provided. We booked dinner for 4.30, the restaurant was full (I was told it had 170 covers) it was very noisy, out of control children running around, and all the tables were very close together. Not a place for a quiet, intimate dinner. Service was average, our drinks, starters and mains appeared promptly, but we had to wait about 30 minutes for our desserts. I don't eat meat, there was nothing on the menu that I would eat, I was given a Vegan menu, and had a Vegan burger. I thought the dinner was poor value for £45 pp. (Prawn cocktail, Vegan burger, Christmas Pudding)Not a great experience. However, Monday's breakfast was a much better experience. We were seated at a different part of the restaurant. It was spacious, clean and quiet, what I expect from a 4* hotel. The menu had a choice of hot food, plus, fruit juices, pastries and fresh fruit. Why can't hotel paying guests be seated here for dinner? Service was good, our food was delivered promptly and hot. I was surprised, on checkout, to be charged a 10% service charge on our dinners and drinks. We were paying guests, on a hotel package. Why the added service charge? I've stayed in 4+5* hotels, and never had to pay a service charge. Reception also told me, that I should've been offered the Brasserie menu at dinner. Unfortunately, the whole experience, was not what we expected, so we won't be returning.
