The View from The Shard is a modern architectural gem, conveniently located right next to the metro. The views are absolutely stunning, offering a breathtaking panorama of London. The bar at the top adds to the experience, and you can even enjoy a scoop of ice cream while watching the sunset. A memorable spot and definitely worth a visit!

Myself and 8 Embassy colleagues attended the Shard last week to experience a private tour with the wonderful Michael. His enthusiasm for his work shone through and his incredible stories had us all entertained from start to finish. We were lucky to have beautifully clear views that evening and the champagne was flowing which was great. Michael really was the cherry on top of a lovely evening though. I would highly recommend that everyone take the tour with him!! I have been talking about his stories with everyone since! Thanks so much Michael!

To celebrate my friends birthday we booked the Peter Pan afternoon tea at The Aqua Shard. Amazing food and service was good. We had a table for 2 with a magnificent view of Tower Bridge and Tower of London. The scones were small but perfectly formed (as they say?) And were presented on a miniature boat (see photos).

Visiting The Shard is an incredible experience that should be on every London itinerary. From the 72nd floor, you get a breathtaking 360° view of the city, making it one of the best vantage points in London. The modern and ultra-fast elevators add to the excitement, and there’s even a historical narration about the building and its surroundings during the ascent. The open-air terrace at the top offers a unique experience, where you can feel the clouds passing by if the weather allows. Even if there's some fog, the view from the 68th floor is already stunning. Additionally, there's a bar where you can enjoy a drink while taking in the skyline. Access is convenient via Tower Bridge station, and after your visit, a stroll to Tower Pier is highly recommended to enjoy the riverfront atmosphere and nearby restaurants. While some areas above the 72nd floor seem visible in photos, they are not accessible to the public. Despite this, The Shard remains an unforgettable experience and a must-visit landmark in London.

Its not called the "View" for nothing. On a fine day, which we had, you get spectacular 360 views of the London area, reaching out to the Docklands in the East to Wimbledon in the South West. What made it especially fun was some fantastic live singing by Georgia Gagen. Georgia, a West End musical theatre professional, sang some beautiful easy listening songs and it definitely added to the ambiance. It was not at all crowded and the bar, although pricey, offered a good range of drinks. Topped off a great day and would highly recommend.
