London, all of it, is the backdrop to any event at Aqua Shard – the restaurant is on level 31 of western Europe’s tallest building. Even the toilets come with a view. A distinctly British theme runs through the venue, from the Liberty-print banquettes to a home-grown menu that includes Cornish leg of lamb, and beef rump with Welsh egg. There’s a spacious private dining room if your event is a little more exclusive, or there’s the semi-private Gin Wing for larger affairs. Its little sister, Tea Wing, is another glass-clad space available for events. Hire the whole place and you’ll have room for 180 diners or a stand-up reception for twice as many.

First of all, needless to say, on a clear day like we had, the views of London landmarks from the 31st floor are awesome! The restaurant is situated at the perfect height. The atmosphere, the sense of wonder is infectious. The service is very professional. Our food (the experience menu, window seat), was deeeelicious and cooked to perfection! I feel I really celebrated my birthday AND wedding anniversary in style!

Understood! Here’s a revised version that keeps your personal tone intact: Fantastic Experience Definitely on the (very) expensive side, so be prepared for this (one shared starter, two mains, one shared dessert, two glasses of wine, two glasses of champagne, and two cocktails came to around £400). That said, the experience is absolutely worth it. The view over London is incredible, and the atmosphere is wow. What also really stands out is the staff. They are 100% focused on making sure all your needs are met and ensuring the experience lives up to expectations. Angela at the reception and Aldo in the restaurant both went out of their way to make sure we had the best time. It’s a must-do if you’re in London!

We booked afternoon tea today 09/10 and me and my partner both agreed that this was one of the best Afternoon tea parties. It was our anniversary which was acknowledged at the desk when we were entering the restaurant but also, we were given a plate with two beautifully presented sweets, and a chocolate plaque saying Happy Anniversary. The sandwiches were amazing, especially the mushroom tarts, and the cakes tasted amazingly good. We definitely didn't feel hungry at the end of it all. All staff, and I mean absolutely all of the staff, starting with the security at the Shard and the Restaurant staff were lovely and attentive. And we had a great view. Definitely worth visiting the Afternoon tea.

Definitely the best afternoon tea we have ever had! The whole experience was excellent and couldn’t have been any better. We had a window seat with views of the Thames and Tower Bridge. The food was wonderful, beautifully presented and delicious and expertly explained, with substitutions for allergens where necessary. The service was polite and efficient without being intrusive. Would highly recommend afternoon tea here

Had a three course Christmas festive menu - Cured Salmon, Turkey Parcel and Chocolate Dome. On arrival, the reception staff were very pleasant and greeted us with big smiles. The waiter was equally pleasant and responsive. The food was flavourful, delicious and really well cooked - moreso than anticipated. Each course was beautifully presented. Bonus: I appreciated the urinal design in the men's room. One can relieve themselves with quite the view... The only area where it loses a star is perhaps the price. Was it a great experience? Yes. Would I have given it 5 stars for being £15 cheaper per person? More likely.
