On the north bank of the Thames, this ancient inn of court stands apart for its unspoilt main Hall, where 16th-century heraldic panels sit beneath stained-glass windows and a splendid double hammer-beam roof.
Middle Temple's impeccable lawns also enshroud the Prince’s Room, with its stately panelling and original fireplace; the Queen’s Room, which has the best garden views; and the Parliament Chamber, where there’s more exquisite stained glass. The Rutledge Suite offers comfortable breakout spaces but, come summer, be sure to step out into the gardens themselves.

February 2025Great venue and location for lunch, staff helpful and amicable. If you get an opportunity to visit, enjoy all the coats of arms from all the old barristers surrounding the hall. No photography allowed.
