Ashfield House is a luxury country house that is available on an exclusive hire basis for your special day with our beautiful ground floor layout and the 15 guest bedrooms for you to use as you please.
Our stunning and charming house can accommodate 130 of your guests for your ceremony and wedding breakfast, and up to 250 for your evening reception. We can also accommodate smaller weddings that can be held comfortably in one of our smaller reception rooms. No matter how intimate your day is, you will still have exclusive use of the house.
On your wedding day, you will be looked after by our small but knowledgeable and highly experienced family team that provide a friendly and personal service for you.
At Ashfield House, you can make use of our bridal sitting room to get ready in – a lovely start to your big day. Overlooking the gorgeous Douglas Valley and manicured gardens, this room is peaceful, elegantly decorated and is very practical with sofas, dressing tables and dress hooks. This room is yours for the night to relax in and to touch up your makeup!

October 2024We knew we wanted Ashfield House as soon as we looked around. We LOVED that we had the whole house to ourself for the day. The venue is perfect, with all its quirky details, the ceremony room, bar and main room are all beautiful. We loved that the guests could stay overnight. The bedrooms at Ashfield house are simply STUNNING, everyone commented on them. I feel that one of the main things guest remember about your wedding is the food. The food and options available are incredible. It amazed us how well catered everyone was, how seamless and efficient the staff were. More importantly, how delicious the food was! The staff could not do enough for us! Our wedding Planner Jennie, was onboard through the whole process, holding our hand, and making sure that everything went to plan. Our wedding celebrant Carol, made sure the wedding itself was personal. She spent time with us getting to know us and it was emotional, beautiful and wonderful. We couldn't have asked for more! October 2024We were invited to a family christening reception at Ashfield House (Standish, Wigan, UK) in September 2024. What a beautiful building! We were in a Lovely, spacious room, leading to an outdoor terrace, and the garden area. Stunning setting! I found the staff to be helpful, kind and friendly. The buffet was tasty, and well presented. It was a great place to celebrate with the family's,and friends. You should consider Ashfield House for your next big life event!!
