January 2025We stayed at Sheepdrove Woodend Lodge for a large family get together. Absolutely loved that all the bedrooms are a great size and have their own en-suites. This was amazing. Everything was really clean and in good condition. The heating didn’t seem to work at first but got going eventually. The log burner was such a nice touch and the grounds are really beautiful. We had an issue with the dishwasher but the owners were really quick to come out and have a look, and to get a plumber to look at it on short notice! The only downsides to the property we would note: 1) there’s no TV in the living area. This wasn’t much a deal breaker but was a shame as we wanted to do family movie night but no facilitators for this. 2) the living area and kitchen are just too small for big amounts of people, so while the bedrooms could actually have accommodated even more of us, the communal spaces were definitely jam packed. Theres not enough sofa seating and just not enough space to all sit together really unless round the dining table. 3) the extra living space area in Shorthorn came in really handy, especially when doing dinner because the one small oven in the main kitchen would not have been big enough, so the kitchenette in Shorthorn was helpful. We would love to come back, but unfortunately we will be looking elsewhere at this time for somewhere with a bigger kitchen and lounge area for our group size (15ppl). For those coming in smaller groups I cannot recommend the property more, it is absolutely lovely and we had a great time :)
