March 2025Ibis Edinburgh South Bridge offers a great central location, just minutes from the Royal Mile. Rooms are modern, clean, and comfortable, with all essential amenities. Staff are friendly. It’s a budget-friendly choice for travelers looking to explore Edinburgh on foot. While rooms can be compact, the hotel’s convenience and value make it a solid option for a short stay.

February 2025An Ibis never is a luxurious hotel, but always a good option if you only need a bed and a shower. This one is at a very central location close to public transport, pubs and restaurants. Within walking distance of the old town and Princess Street. I have been here for three nights during a five night stay. The hotel has very friendly and welcoming staff at reception always acknowledging when you pass them coming or going. The same level of good service in the bar and restaurant. Because of my loyalty status I was upgraded to a room on the highest floor (912) and got welcome gifts like Prosecco, soft drinks, chocolates and crisps. And of course a welcome drink in the bar. The size of the room is the same as I am used to in other Ibis hotels, although a Nespresso machine is a nice extra. The air-conditioning and heather unit doesn’t work or is switched off, but there is heather unit in the room. Although it is February and temperatures at night are still close to freezing, I didn’t need it, because the thick walls provide enough insulation. That insulation also keeps out every outside noise, although some sound can sometimes be heard inside by inconsiderate guests slamming doors coming or going. I skip the cleaning on most days by putting the no cleaning needed sign on my door, but the room is clean enough. Overall there is good value for money (£90 a night) in Edinburgh.

January 2025Good hotel, friendly staff, excellent location. Rooms are a good size and ensuites are like a modular pod. Modern feel but very comfortable. Windows don't open so I would suggest checking that the AC works when you arrive, ours didn't work and it was very warm and stuffy at night.

February 2025I was initially assigned a hotel room (763) with no working air conditioning and no windows. When I inquired about this, the receptionist informed me that they were aware of ongoing air conditioning issues in some rooms, yet they still assigned me one without informing me in advance. This was completely unacceptable. After a long discussion, I was eventually given a different room (841). However, upon heading to the room, I discovered that the entire floor appeared to be under renovation, making it impossible to walk through. When I returned to the reception, I was told that I had to take a different lift from another floor to reach my room. This made accessing my room a constant hassle throughout my three-day stay. Overall, this experience was extremely inconvenient and poorly managed.

February 2025We are staying until 27/02, in less than 24 hrs we have been in 3 rooms. The pipes sound horrible every 15 minutes and it's not possible to have a good sleep (not during the night or day). The hotel employees are nice and help but I doubt people can have a good night sleep.
