November 2024Had a great weekend here. Brilliant staff, excellent food and just a really relaxing experience. Had the golf and spa package and even as beginner golfers it was really good value. The rooms are not the most modern but everything worked and they were clean. Plus, most importantly the bed was comfortable. The spa was excellent especially the outdoor hot tub pool.

October 2024Me and my girlfriend had a virgin experience voucher and chose this hotel to spend the night. We had a lovely stay! The grounds are very impressive and the building itself is beautiful. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice and modern with a sort of industrial look to it. We had breakfast in the morning which was great with plenty of choice. We then went to the spa where we spent almost 4 hours in the various pools saunas, steam rooms and hot tubs. The outdoor, heated infinity pool was amazing! Especially as it was a beautiful autumn day. It was very expensive but worth it.

December 2024We had a girls morning at Shrigley which included lunch and massage. Lunch was tasty and service was great. Very happy with the massage The changing rooms are tiny, it was very overwhelming at first! Also no dryer for bikinis We were disappointed that a hot tub was out of commission- I do feel guests should be made aware of this and it should reflect in the price when you’re unable to use all services Other than that it was lovely and relaxing. We’d go again but would check everything it working properly prior to booking

November 2024Myself and a close friend visited Shrigley during October half term for a relaxing, well needed spa day. Some strong positives - treatment & outdoor infinity pool. Views and grounds are impressive! I chose the hot stones treatment and it was incredibly relaxing and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and the room had a great tranquil atmosphere. The waiting rooms in the treatment centre were very well decorated and equipped for a relaxing wait. Finally, I would highly recommend the restaurant/lunch spot. Staff were friendly and food was tasty. However, one highlight of the day was the rude member of staff at the desk of the treatment centre. Server was rude, moody and quite clearly didn’t want to be there. She handed over the clipboards with force and her tone of voice was appalling. The facilities inside needed a deep clean and repairs needed to be undertaken. The showers were cold and parts were broken. Changing rooms are small, particularly on changeover timings.

December 2024Can’t say much about the rooms because we only booked the spa but truthfully not worth the £300 we paid in my opinion. We got full day access but there was a door into the spa that didn’t work (meaning you had to go in via the restaurant or all the way around). Additionally, there was a pool that was Out of order and the chemicals in the hot tub made our eyes sting. The spa feels a little run down , the walls are a little run down and very little space for hanging items or even just placing your drinks. We were there all day and there seemed to be one person in the restaurant the entire time which just seemed inconvenient. Food was okay. Tasted great But limited options. Just not really a premium environment. That being said we still had a nice time and the staff were all friendly. We also booked in for treatments with the hot stone massage and we both had completely different experiences. Massage was a 5/10 for me and 10/10 for my partner. Seems he was also asked questions about preferences and I wasn’t which was odd but ultimately not in enjoyable and the facilities in the treatment rooms were fine. Changing rooms were nice but no dryer for bikinis / clothes so bear in mind.
