January 2025The room was warm, spacious and very clean. The location is beautiful. The staff (from the receptionists through to the staff at breakfast and in the restaurant) were courteous, professional and helpful. The food served was superb. The rates were very reasonable. I have stayed in a few hotels in this area and this is by far the best. I real find.

February 2025We have just arrived back from a two night stay here. The room was very spacious and clean and we had a lovely stay here. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and the service was great. The food was lovely and very well presented. The weather wasn’t great so we didn’t get chance to explore the grounds but what we did see looked nice. I would recommend anyone to stay here.

February 2025Lovely hotel. Staff super friendly and helpful. Had a wheelchair accessible room as it was a good deal. There was an effective electric heater in room but no separate heating in the shower room. Water pressure was off the scale, awkward trying to fill up kettle and noisy when flushing the toilet. Bed was large and firm, just as I like it. Quality tea and biscuits although tea bags were all defective, not sealed properly. Clearly not fault of the hotel. Also noisy customer in room above banging about at 2am. His alarm went off at 6am,and continued for 90 minutes, clearly audible to me but unfortunately not them! . Wasn't impressed. Would stay again. Beautiful grounds. Have had breakfast previously and it was lovely.

March 2025Had a executive room with a courtyard view, The view out of the two windows was of a flat roof and roof light! The room was a good size but definitely needed a complete overhaul, The only good thing was it seemed to be a new bed which was very comfortable, The room and bathroom were clean but very tired looking, the wardrobe was something out of the 70’s and none of the furniture matched, stained carpet and no fan in the bathroom, so when showering the room stayed steamed up for a long time, The mirror in the bathroom was not suitable to do your makeup in as the sink was in front of it and not enough space to get between the toilet and sink to get nearer, also apart from a small towel rail, that was off, nowhere else to hang towels! The only other mirror was in the bedroom which had a sofa in front off it, so yet again to far away for make up, We were staying for a couple of nights for our friends birthday, the meal in the evening was very good and breakfast was good, I think in the main part of the hotel the rooms have been refurbished to a good standard, but there was no way the room we stayed in can be called an executive room, The grounds were lovely and staff were very friendly.

February 2025The reception and waiting staff were attentive and polite. The room was spacious and clean, however there was a strong odour of cannabis due to other younger guests. The food was inconsistent, totally varied day by day in ingredients, portion size and quality. The chef needs to find a new job. Lots of plates got returned to the kitchen, from our party and other paying members of the public.
