Luxury at this five-star hotel comes with a degree of restraint that’s nicely exercised, for example, in the sleek art deco interior of the Mayfair Room, the largest of the hotel’s event spaces. This room can hold 200 for a reception or 120 theatre style. The light-filled Carlos Room holds up to 40 guests and can be used alone, or in conjunction with the Regency Room for cocktail receptions, intimate weddings and dinners. There are also three smart meeting rooms and the Sommelier’s Table, which is a private dining room that seats eight people and is stocked with more than 6,000 bottles of vintage wine.

I recently had the pleasure of attending a business meeting followed by lunch at The Connaught in London's Mayfair district, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the hotel's luxurious ambiance was evident, providing an ideal setting for both professional engagements and leisurely dining. Our meeting was held in one of The Connaught's elegantly designed event spaces, which seamlessly blend classic charm with modern sophistication. The attention to detail in the decor, coupled with state-of-the-art facilities, ensured a productive and comfortable environment. Following the meeting, we dined at the renowned Connaught Grill. The intimate 44-seat restaurant, under the direction of chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, offers a menu that masterfully combines classic British and continental dishes with contemporary flair. The open kitchen, featuring a rotisserie and grill, adds a delightful touch of theatricality to the dining experience. The service was impeccable, with staff demonstrating a perfect balance of professionalism and warmth. Their attentiveness and knowledge of the menu enhanced our dining experience, making us feel both valued and well-cared-for. In summary, The Connaught excels in providing a luxurious and sophisticated atmosphere, making it an excellent choice for business meetings and exquisite dining in the heart of London.

Went in to have a celebratory tea and coffee after getting some wonderful news(around 11am). I had with me the GM of a 5 star hotel from Europe who worked 44 years in the hotel industry. We were sat down with no smiles. Ordered tea and coffee. Nobody asked anything ( if the coffee was good, or to pour our tea). 3 people, all unfriendly for whatever reason. We were dressed business. At the end, a blonde lady at the bar was kind to bring our coats. I was planning to bring the GM for lunch but went to another hotel nearby. We drank our tea and coffee in 5 min and left with a sour taste. Bad first impression for my friend who only saw the hotel online and who wanted to understand more about it's history and so on. A friendly suggestion : please train staff to always assume all people that come in are VIPs and deserve to be treated as such.
