Hatton Court Hotel, The Severn Room

A great hotel just outside Gloucester. A friendly welcome on arrival. We were allocated a room on extension but asked for a room overlooking Severn valley which they happy obliged. So worth it as views amazing! The room was modern and looked like it had been recently updated. Bed, pillows, duvet lovely. Shower over bath great. We had a great meal in the restaurant, perfectly cooked, lovely atmosphere and attentive service. It was part of offer so we had £50 credit, this would not cover two people having two courses but the standard of food was worth it. All to often hotel restaurants can be left wanting but we were more than satisfied. Amazing breakfast menu including Shakshuka, kippers along with usual options. This was all part of a two night package including 2 free drinks and an afternoon tea - great value One little quip would be the carpet in the extension where we were first put - so needs changing. We would definitely go back 😁

What a wonderful find a great hotel, and the rooms were very nice. We had a fantastic evening meal and a wonderful sleep. Breakfast was ok, but there was a shortage of cutlery and butter, and the usual running out of items and two staff chasing their tails trying to get everything done. This was a shame as it appeared that they had a and b team chefs, and the breakfast chefs were nit up to the task as some of the items were overdone and hard where as the evening meal was sublime.
