February 2025Beautiful hotel, gorgeous and luxurious reception area and restaurant. Really good food. Great location. We always super enjoy our stay in this hotel in Hathersage. Guaranteed friendly and attentive service. Recently visited the pub (again) for dinner. Beautifully decked out restaurant. Quite possibly the best steak I have ever had in a long time. Hubby also enjoyed his super tasty, and tender meal. We were lucky to book early so had the restaurant to ourselves for a bit. Looking forward to coming back again soon and maybe have a drink in the courtyard in warm sunny weather.

January 2025I can’t speak highly enough of The George. We stayed for one night in January. The room was spacious, warm and spotless, as was the en suite bathroom. Very comfortable king-sized bed. I am vegetarian, my partner pescatarian, and we found the evening meal menu had plenty of choices for us, beautifully cooked and presented with extra touches which made all the difference. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, with nothing too much trouble. Highly recommended, and we would definitely stay there again. Thank you to all staff.

January 2025Lovely hotel with helpful and friendly staff. The breakfast was very good. We had the full English , eggs royal, continental, porridge and others. We also had dinner in the hotel twice, had the pork and the 🍕 offer with sides before we left. 👍 We asked for a quiet room so had one at the side of the hotel. You could still hear a bit of the traffic but not too bad.

March 2025Lovely hotel with large carpark. The bar had a good selection of beers, ciders and lagers. Large, warm and clean bedroom (2). Had a leaking problem with the Nespresso. The Roberts radio is a nice touch. The main meal was very good and well presented. I had the salmon for breakfast and it wasn't made clear that cereals were also available. I would recommend the hotel but information was lost from Saturday night to Sunday morning. It all had to be repeated again, which was slightly frustrating.

February 2025Great location to access the hills and Hathersage. Excellent quality meals and room decor. We felt the breakfast was good quality but very limited, there was no cereal or toast or pastries unless you ordered the continental breakfast. The staff clearly advise anything off the set menu would be charged extra. So we felt nervous simply asking for a top up of juice.... I did get some granola without extra charges :-) Bit weird considering the cost per night.
