January 2025Our family of 3 plus dog spent 2 nights here in the summer after abandoning our tent in the torrential rain. The place is as cosy and welcoming as it gets. It really is a home from home. The owners are on site and are the perfect bridge between professional and friendly. The owners dad was helping out the week we stayed and he was a joy to chat to. We stayed in a room in the main house and we upgraded to a jacuzzi bath, which my son loved! The breakfast was perfection and we enjoyed looking closely at the fab art around in the dining room (you’ll see when you’re there ;-). The grounds looked beautiful and there is a little sunset platform with beautiful views, unfortunately it was unseasonably cold when we were there so we ran in after the sun went down, but in warmer days it would be a lovely place to sit and share a bottle of wine. Location wise it’s accessible on the roads to all the places you’d want to go. Oh and they are also super welcoming to dogs, and gave her a little toy on arrival which was a lovely touch. It’s rare to find places that don’t feel commercial or soulless, but Fairwater really feels like a home from home where you can relax and be taken care of.
