We can offer a selection of stunning rooms for your event, including your ceremony, wedding breakfast and reception. Our rooms can hold between 10 and 130 day guests, and up to 250 for the evening reception.
Wivenhoe House boasts 40 bedrooms, 16 elegant rooms and suites in the restored historic house, and 24 rooms and suites in the contemporary garden wing overlooking the stunning gardens and parkland. We can reserve our overnight accommodation for your guests at a guaranteed rate!

February 2025Last minute booking as we were working away. Got there mid evening and the staff were all amazing. I believe this is a training hotel for the university and wow their attention to detail is amazing. Every member of staff we passed created us warmly and that really makes the difference. When we checked in the lovely lady on reception couldn’t do enough to help nothing was too much. As it was a last minute booking our room still needed making ready and the lovely lady at reception took us through to the bar and got us a drink while we waited. Once we got to our room it was immaculate and very modern. Room service was on the ball and very prompt. Breakfast the next day was of a beautiful standard and the staff were extra welcoming. Overall an amazing place to stay and hats off to the staff they really made it lovely . Would 100% stay here again no questions asked.

March 2025We came here for afternoon tea, which was a gift. Rhe service was good and everyone was friendly and accommodating. The food was nice, we definitely felt full. The location is lovely and nice piece of Tranquility

December 2024Getting worse. This is potentially a fantastic venue, but having enjoyed successive years of Christmas meals, they are getting worse. It feels like everything is focused on the convenience of the staff / facility and not the paying customer. The food is very average. Such a shame.
