This was our second Valentines celebration at Wortley Hall. There were more people here this year and we were in the Dining Room rather than the Ballroom where we were last year. The room package was again very good and we requested the same room that we had last year. MaryTargett went out of her way to grant this request. The 5-course meal was very good and although I didn't like the meat choice for the main course we had plenty of food that I did enjoy. Breakfast the following morning was self service buffet and more than adequate but the eggs and the bacon were dry. I do hope that they are charging enough for these events to be able to do the repairs and replacements that the Hall requires because some of the areas are in need of attention.

I went there today for afternoon tea with my wife and the tea and coffee was lovely and the afternoon tea was amazing but best of all was the lovely service from the waitress 🙂 really nice garden to walk around. I'll definitely return and try Sunday dinner

We had our wedding here. The venue was perfect, Ellie and Karla looked after us perfectly. Wortley Hall as a wedding venue is perfect, everything from the venue itself, to the staff and the price. They catered to our every need on the day of our wedding and everyday before. Our wedding couldn't have gone any more perfect then it had and that was thanks to the entire team. If you are thinking about booking the venue for your wedding, I suggest you go for it asap. The restaurant was amazing, the breakfast was amazing and the rooms are great. We had a lot of family staying and they all loved the rooms and the venue. The staff are amazing and can't be faulted. As a bride they bent over backwards for me, helped me at every turn when it came to my guests and the day went smoothly. Thank you to Wortley Hall for making our day magical.

Stayed a few nights with my darling beloved just to see what the place was like. We had a lovely room at the end of a corridor with a really nice bathroom. The food was fine and nicely served and I thought it was exactly what I expected. Nothing out of the ordinary for the venue. Where we ate the food was a bit of a lottery breakfast in particular was served in three different rooms. Breakfasts were good. Overall a positive experience.

Burns Night When we got to our room, number 42, it was freezing cold, the radiator was not working. We found a fan heater in the wardrobe but that just took all the air out of the room. Spoke to reception before our meal- she was lovely and said she would check. We went into Burns Night meal- this was brilliant. The pipers and drummer were great. We loved the piping in of the Haggis- it was delicious too! Every course of the meal was delicious in fact. Staff were hardworking, polite and attentive. When we got back to room there was another fan heater and a blanket on the bed. Thoughtful, but not what we were hoping for. We plugged both heaters in and it tripped the electrics. Someone came and 'fixed it'- we plugged heaters in again and the electrics tripped again. By this time we were frozen to the bone. We asked to be moved to another room, which they did and thankfully it was heated. We were very grateful for this. We do feel that as we were only staying for one night we were given an inferior room. I don't feel it is acceptable to expect people to put up with these conditions. Thank you for sorting it, but don't think it should have needed it. We will definitely eat here again as food is exceptional but will not stay again
