For 700 years Ripley Castle has been the quintessential essence of Yorkshire romance.
From the moment you enter the village, Ripley stands apart:  it is beautiful, historic, and picture postcard perfect. When it comes to organising weddings, few venues can match our years of experience, professionalism, and ability to turn visions into reality.  Ripley offers a range of great inclusive packages, with no hidden costs so you know exactly where you are when budgeting for your big day.
All our catering is done ‘in-house’ and the castle has established a great reputation for excellence and reliability when it comes to serving fine cuisine and good wines.
A number of the castle’s main reception rooms are licensed for civil wedding ceremonies. The 16th century oak-panelled Library lends a fabulous air of history and dignity to the proceedings, but some couples prefer to use one of the lighter Georgian rooms. The spectacular Long Gallery in the East Wing seats up to 120 people.
Dedicated wedding co-ordinators sit down with you to prepare a detailed programme for the day so that everybody knows who is doing what and when. At Ripley there is always someone at your shoulder; to answer queries, offer advice, receive instructions and help however they can, whatever the question.

The East Wing has three rooms available to hire for Weddings, private events and Conferences.

These rooms can be hired on an individual bases and can accommodate 12 to 120 guests.

Wonderful place to visit, particularly the gardens in winter as it’s really quiet. And the glasshouses are warm inside. I spent an hour in them, but I am a gardener!

Great place for a morning or afternoon out. Lovely views. Lake with waterfalls, deer park walk, hothouses with amazing plants. All very well looked after. Castle was closed on our visit.

Lovely grounds with waterfalls and a huge lake to walk around. Roaming deer, snowdrops and daffodils along with the hothouse brimming with unusual plants were fab! £5 entry was good value. We bought our tickets on line so paid an extra £1 but at this time of year (February half term) it was necessary. The castle itself wasn't open to the public but was lovely to look at from the outside. A little tearoom completed our day with a Yorkshire tea costing only £2:30 for a pot containing 2 cups! A little gift shop sold a variety of handmade items. Well worth a visit!

We visited the garden and grounds of Ripley Castle for Valentine's Day because my wife loves it there. It was my first time. We had a lovely time walking all around the lake and seeing the deer. We also visited the gardens and hot houses which were interesting. We finished with a light lunch in the cafe. It is a nice environment to eat in, the food was lovely but a bit pricey. All the staff on site were very friendly and helpful, particularly the guy in the coffee house. Overall, great value for money, great way to spend a few hours, lovely views and easy parking which was not expensive. We would recommend it.
