We were looking for a special hotel for our wedding anniversary, and we weren’t disappointed, it was excellent. This is a lovely hotel; friendly and relaxed in nice grounds, with a short woodland walk to the rear. It was clean and comfortable and the staff were excellent: nothing was too much trouble. Service and food were very good too, including the Chef’s vegan choices.

This was a one-night getaway for my partner and myself. I was on business in Finland on Valentine's night, so I tried to make up for it on my return. I booked us a stay in a Superior room, and we had the 7 course tasting menu with a full wine flight. The food was great, and the service was impeccable. The restaurant manager is a credit to the venue and is a fountain of knowledge. He was comfortable explaining each dish and the reason he chose the accompanying wines. The rest of the staff were equally attentive without being intrusive. The hotel itself is steeped in history and worth a visit alone.

Overall disappointing as a beautiful building, but it stops there, i arrived in the evening, bed room was very cold as heating was off, took ages for room to warm up after turing on the rad., breakfast was lovely but staff seated people based on profiling..good tables went to well dressed people or people with titles..the rest were directed towards the side tables

Visited for Afternoon Tea. Firstly have to say Gloria made the day! Her caring and friendly personality was much appreciated. Best part of our visit. Sandwiches dry and dare I say predictable, dry finger slices on a plate with no presentation, Scones just rock hard and dense, cake "bites" average. Tad disappointed if I'm honest, expected more. Lovely place though
