wow, what a stunning hotel! Possibly one of the nicest I've ever stayed in. Beautiful building laced with history (and a tomb and possibly its own ghost!). The room was great! Nice and quiet, comfortable bed, tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Some bottled water would have been a nice touch, but not an issue. The grounds are beautiful, well kept gardens and a nice lake to wonder around. Bar was reasonably priced and service was good. The breakfast buffet was good with plenty of choice of hot and cold options (but expensive), it was very busy so things ran out quickly but were not refilled as quickly. All in all, a fabulous, romantic getaway that I would highly recommend!

Came here to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. Staff were excellent and attentive, accommodation was lovely and the hotel is like a scene from Harry Potter. We had an evening meal and breakfast, there evening meal was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing, breakfast was plentiful with a variety of choice. Grounds are lovely and the parking can be paid for at the machine in the car park, or reception if you're staying.

Very impressive country hotel with parks. To walk in and enjoy. Lots of parking. Hotel itself is probably an acquired taste but I love it, huge amount of history but that come with dark wood, dark rooms and creaking floors, but it’s comfortable and staff are lovely. My last room had a huge 4 poster bed raised on a platform - I felt like royalty 😊
