February 2025Myself and my partner have just visited for the second time and had a wonderful experience. Staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel itself is stunning. We were complimentary upgraded to a junior suite which was lovely and we paid the extra to use the spa which I think is worth the £20. Little touches throughout the hotel, spa and the rooms really make this feel like the 5 star experience it is.

April 2025Booked a spa day and afternoon tea for my partners birthday and Utopia Spa did not disappoint! From the moment we arrived, staff were attentive, friendly and gave us a clear schedule for the day. The facilities were beautiful, tranquil and perfect for unwinding. The only thing that could be improved was the treatment time - we were booked in for 40 minutes and felt it ended a little early but the massage itself was great. The afternoon tea was delicious - would highly recommend for anyone in need of a detox or a gift idea for a loved one!

March 2025Overnight stay with an upgrade, unfortunately the heating wasn't working, but the night porter gave us an electric heater. However, the room was beutiful, large bedroom, sitting room and bathroom with bath & shower. Breakfast was really good as was the room service. Dinner was delicious but 5 star prices. Treatments were really good, 55 minute massage and 40 min neck & shoulder massage. The pool area is quite noisy due to the hot tubs. The steam room & saunas are split in the male & female changing areas, so a bit of a disappointment when you go as a couple. Lunch in the champagne bar was good and very relaxed. Staff in reception were brilliant.

March 2025We have stayed here before and chose to come back. We stayed overnight to primarily use the pool/spa. We really enjoyed this. Would give this 5 stars. I think I’d give the room 4 stars, just looks like some of the room needs updating and some things feel a bit ‘worn’ like the carpet, shower, toilet, extractor fan in the bathroom which was very noisy and echoed into the bedroom but it wouldn’t stop me staying again. The breakfast was amazing. However what I did find extremely disappointing was the dinner we had at the restaurant. Both the service and food were extremely underwhelming and the seats were too close together. All I could hear was other people’s conversations. In fact we have decided if we do come back again we will get a taxi to the pub we went to for lunch as it was much nicer. That is why I have given an overall 3 stars, otherwise it would have been an overall 4.

April 2025We booked for the Mother’s Day afternoon tea and there was confusion about the cost and when payment would be due. This was resolved. On the day there was confusion over the dietary requirements of a no seafood or egg sandwiches request. They seemed to think no seafood meant fish was acceptable and that no egg included no egg in everything else too (despite ‘sandwiches’ being in the requirement description). The person with those requests had rubbish sandwiches. Generally, the sandwiches were mean and were accompanied by the world smallest sausage roll. The cakes and scones were okay. In my opinion it was not worth the amount paid and a disappointment. Go elsewhere for an afternoon tea!
