February 2025Really helpful and friendly reception, bar and cleaning staff. Only complaint is the fridge is next to the bed in room 25, and it kept me awake. But room great.

March 2025Went on a Travel Zoo voucher . Absolutely unbeatable value for what was a fantastic hotel. Lovely rooms in a beautiful old building that's well located. Great breakfast and dinner and very friendly and helpful staff . Would totally recommend.

January 2025This is a fantastic find in Taunton! We hosted our wedding reception here, and all our guests stayed for two nights. From start to finish, Rachel and her team provided exceptional organisation and support. The rooms were comfortable, though a few fridges could benefit from an upgrade. The annex was a lifesaver, allowing all our family members and children to stay together in one block. The team was incredibly accommodating to all our requests related to the wedding reception, ensuring everything went smoothly. The venue itself was stunning, and the food served during the reception was absolutely brilliant! We couldn’t fault their service at all. It makes us wonder why people spend so much on barns or other venues when this lovely place offers so much more. Our guests especially appreciated being able to retreat to their rooms later in the evening for a quick rest before rejoining the celebrations. On the day of the reception, the staff were attentive and ensured all our requests were addressed promptly. Even when settling the bills, the team demonstrated honesty and integrity, which we truly valued. Overall, it’s a fantastic place to host a wedding reception or any celebration. The venue, the service, and the rooms exceeded our expectations. We loved every bit of it!

March 2025Stayed in this handsome and classy hotel for 2 nights.. in dog friendly apartment which was very perfunctory, clean and welcoming with added dog bonuses, a very sweet touch. Had afternoon tea on arrival with freshly baked (homemade) scones, delightful! Dined that evening in the gorgoeus restaurant with an attentive waiter (nice young man) sublime food, attention to detail was exquisite and the food was obviously cooked with loved. Very reasonably priced and very well executed. Breakfast was equally as good accompanied by a generous spread. All staff were very professional and polite, and the owner, Carlos is very passionate about hospitality, good food and wine and looking after people. A very satisfying stay. We'll be back! Thanks again x
