February 2025My mother in law was stranded in Sheffield as her train to London got diverted to Sheffield. I called The Rutland Hotel because, I saw it was dog friendly. I spoke with a woman named Helen and she was very helpful with trying to find a room for them even though they were fully booked. She was very patient and showed true understanding in regards to their situation. My mother in law did manage to find a room in another hotel last minute but Helen showed professionalism and amazing assistance throughout. She was truly wonderful.

March 2025I recently booked a room at The Rutland for my husband, Allan, as he was undergoing surgery at the Hallamshire. With it being just a 5 minute stroll from the hospital, it was an absolutely ideal location and worked really well. The room was lovely, clean and warm, and the staff on 'Reception' were so helpful & friendly ... making him feel very welcome. As he has another hospital appointment booked in a few days time, we had no hesitation in turning to this lovely hotel yet again. As before, the reception staff (namely Alison & Lana) handled the online/phone booking in a very friendly, efficient manner ... and are a credit to the hotel. So glad we found this lovely place ... and don't forget to try their delicious pizza while you're there, made to order and then brought up to your room. Overall, we would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending The Rutland Hotel to anyone else ... book with confidence!

March 2025Really great stay at The Rutland. Lovely to be in a traditional, one-off hotel. Room was spotless and nice big shower. Delicious breakfast. Staff great too. So good to be able to park on site as well.

March 2025My husband and I stayed for a long weekend in March and found it pleasant enough. The staff were friendly and checking in/out was quick and easy. Slight snags was that the WiFi was extremely patchy. It connected easily at reception but in our room it had maybe one or two spots where a phone would connect if held just right. Moaning aside, the breakfast was lovely, continental buffet and cooked options. The service was friendly and prompt. Finally, it's a great location for the hospital, botanical gardens, and getting out of the city. Less so for the city centre.
