The hotel staff were all fantastic and went about and beyond to help us. Unfortunately, in our first room, the heating was broken. A quick walk to reception and all was swiftly changed. The Guinness is nice and cold, and the lounge bar staff again couldn't do enough for us. The food was good! The breakfast was good quality but a little on the cold side. The coffee was excellent, though! Overall, it's a decent hotel going through a needed re decorating period. Great location for all sorts of local attractions (we went to Chatsworth House Christmas displays)

Attended the hotel for a work christmas party. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The party was great and the room we stayed in was clean and tidy. Loved the cookie on arrival.

I recently stayed at this hotel and found it to be in an easy-to-reach location, with convenient parking available. On arrival, the reception staff were pleasant and chatty, and I even got my warm cookie – a nice touch! The room was spacious, with a very comfortable bed and pillows. Although the bathroom was small, it had all the necessary amenities. However, one downside was the shower, which was only half-covered by glass, causing water to spray onto the floor. On the positive side, my room had an opening window and excellent air conditioning, which was great for controlling the temperature. The décor was a bit tired and could use a refresh, but overall, the room was adequate for my stay. One significant issue I experienced was the noise at night. I could clearly hear other guests talking in the rooms beside me and also loud footsteps from the room above, which was far from ideal for a restful night. Breakfast was standard, with all the usual buffet options available, though nothing particularly stood out. Unfortunately, during checkout, the staff didn’t ask how my stay had been and seemed disinterested, which left a bit of a sour note at the end of my visit.

I recently stayed three nights with my family of four at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Sheffield. We were warmly welcomed by Ali at reception, who greeted us with the signature warm cookies and provided helpful information about the hotel and nearby attractions. During breakfast, Sue stood out for her welcoming demeanor. On our first day, she kindly offered to bring us orange juice to our table, which made our morning feel special. However, I noticed a significant difference compared to other Hilton properties. While the staff were friendly, they often appeared overworked, affecting service quality. Breakfast itself was disappointing, with several items frequently running out and not enough prepared for the number of guests. The pool was nice and warm, which the kids enjoyed, but unfortunately, the jacuzzi was not working during our entire stay. The fitness center was particularly disappointing; many machines were rusty, some were not working, and there was only one treadmill available. The center's limited hours from 7 AM to 8 PM also made it difficult to use before breakfast, which is served only until 9:30 AM on weekdays. Although the location was quiet and allowed for restful nights, improved operations management, better food supplies, and additional support for staff would enhance the experience. With these changes, this hotel could become a great family option.

The two rooms we had were very tired and dated. Lots of mould spots on bathroom ceilings, large chips in bathtub. Mattress was rock hard and pillows very flat. Car parking was plentiful, but lots of litter in the car par, not an issue, just an observation. Expected better from a top branded hotel chain. Didn't have breakfast or any other meals so can't comment on the food. Used digital keys and automated check in/out so didn't actually interact with any staff, and given the queue at reception when we arrived that worked out well.
