The Clifden Arms is a country venue located in Buckinghamshire. Boasting delightful rural charm, this property offers a truly idyllic setting for ceremonies and receptions in the South East of England. Featuring medieval architecture, period-style design, and modern-day luxury, it offers a captivating mix of the old and the new. From the eye-catching thatched roof of the pub to the picturesque garden, and more, there is a great deal to admire at this countryside retreat.
We have a large marquee space which we hire out for our weddings and celebration events, however we have just been granted planning for a wedding barn. The space will be finished to a high standard to fit in with the countryside rustic setting.
The barn will commence work in October 2023, this will be complete by March 2024.
The Clifden Arms public house is a timber framed building with brick noggin and thatched roof. The older part is medieval and the newer wing was added in the 17th century. A newly built outside bar has recently been purchased along with a 9m x 18m marquee; however we have been granted the planning for a wedding barn which is the same size as our current marquee space.
This space can be decorated to the clients taste, with different flooring available and a dancefloor. Private use of the outside bar is always included in the rental of the marquee.

It has been a little while since we visited the pub, but things have certainly moved on! The service was great and the staff were very friendly. We were able to take our pup along who enjoyed playing in the garden with other dogs. The food here was absolutely delicious and I thought that the menu was unique from other pubs and restaurants in Thame and the surrounding area. Would highly recommend this for all occasions and even just chilling for a couple of pints in the evening.

Beautiful quaint pub, stayed one night had breakfast which was amazing, huge car park, lovely outdoor play area for children. Staff really friendly and helpful! Would definitely come back again. Unfortunately there was a weather warning and severe flooding in the whole area with schools closing, the manager Rob suggested we left in order to get back home safely (which was correct as the roads were being shut) and the chef Tom let us follow him back to the main road to get back to the motorway! Amazing staff, so accommodating

This is an excellent Inn. Staff are great, accommodation is lovely, and facilities rich. The best broadband speed I've ever had anywhere, 250Mb up and down. This place is fantastic value for money, excellent breakfast included in the room price. Can't fault it. A real gem of a place.

The Clifden Arms is located in a really beautiful area - village of Worminghall, Buckinghamshire - and the pub itself has a great heritage dating back to medieval times, with the newer section added in 17th century. We stopped for drinks and lunch, having been recommended to stop here. Whilst the food wasn’t to our liking and well below the expected standard (and the reputation), the manager was very honest and accountable - so credit where it is due. Happy to give them the benefit of the doubt and hope they took my fair feedback on board so as to improve the kitchen performance and food served. The building and location deserve a higher standard, and independent pubs need support - especially free houses.
