Mustard Tree is a charity that combats poverty and prevents homelessness.
We believe everyone needs a home, everyone needs opportunity to earn an income and everyone needs help at some point in their life.

Our Ancoats building – previously a wholesalers – was generously gifted to the charity by Anthony Preston CBE and his wife Margaret, which proved transformational in the development of the charity. Following ‘The Big Rebuild’ led by OMI Architects in 2018, Mustard Tree made a commitment to dedicate the refurbished Ancoats building to the community.

We have several spaces available to hire for your meeting, training or away day.

Our small meeting room accommodates 4 to 6 people, making it perfect for face-to-face appointments, small team meetings, or private work sessions. The room is equipped with up to six chairs and two tables, providing a comfortable setting for productive gatherings. Wi-Fi is also available for seamless connectivity. It’s a practical, well-equipped option for small groups.

I did my first volunteer shift on Saturday, great place with really inspiring people who want to make a real difference! If you're thinking of getting involved don't hesitate, it's super rewarding work!

Volunteers are exceptional and always willing to help. Very positive vibe. Cafe prices are low and serve tasty freshly made food and good coffee. Had a latte, soup and quasedillas, all for £8.60.

I love coming to the cafe. The food is tasty and affordable and they have wonderful treats from the Flat Baker too. The staff are always friendly too. Thank you! Oh and I forgot to say that I usually bring my two small children and they are always welcomed!

My positive experience at the cafe has been unfortunately altered. The recent change to a lower-cost sausage brand has resulted in a subpar product with an unappealing texture and a distinct lack of pork flavor. While the remaining menu items and staff remain excellent, the inferior sausage renders the full English breakfast incomplete. Therefore, I will not be returning until this issue is addressed.
