October 2024Where shall I start... Perfect location, couple of steps to Aldgate East Tube station, but also loads of things in walking distance of the hotel. Rooms are clean and okay in size. I have never seen such a great breakfast buffet! Loads of choices, especially vegetarian/vegan options. Major kudos for that! But the very best was the gentleman at the reception. So I had a traumatic experience 2 months ago with emergency surgery during my last holidays. When I went to my room it was a handicapped room which took me right back to the hospital. I went to the reception and asked if there was a possibility to change rooms. I was taken seriously and without hesitation he started looking for a new room. There wasn't one at the moment, but couple of hours later, I received a different room. For some this might seem like nothing, but my stay got even better through that switch. Thank you for listening to me and helping me out. Next time in London will be at the same hotel :-)

October 2024Stayed here with my 14 year old daughter on a surprise trip to London for her birthday. Lovely clean hotel. It seems quite new. Room nicely decorated & spotless. Very nice staff. We arrived at 12.30pm and the staff member at reception very kindly let us check into our room early to drop off our bags & freshen up before going out to explore the city. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. Lots of variety & it was all very fresh. The location is excellent right across the road from the tube station and it’s only 1 stop from Liverpool Street so it’s brilliant for getting round the city. We really enjoyed everything about this hotel. Will definitely stay again if we return to London next year!

December 2024Clayton Hotel City of London - Excellent Service Overcame Initial Issues We recently stayed at the Clayton Hotel City of London and, while our experience initially started with a major issue regarding our room, the exceptional service provided by the hotel staff completely turned things around. From the moment we raised our concern, the team went above and beyond to address the problem promptly and professionally. A special mention goes to the manager, Filip, who truly made all the difference. His attentiveness, quick action, and genuine care ensured that we not only felt valued as guests but also that our stay was as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. Thanks to the dedication of the staff, what could have been a negative experience turned into a memorable and delightful stay. We truly appreciated the effort put into making us feel welcome and cared for. We will definitely be booking at the Clayton Hotel City of London again for our next trip and highly recommend it to anyone looking for excellent service and a commitment to guest satisfaction.

November 2024Brilliant hotel. Room was clear and well furnished. Rest of hotel was also immaculate. Staff friendly and accommodating, every member of staff I passed in the hotel said hello or good morning etc. Breakfast was great and staff serving/hosting were polite and welcoming. Hotel is in a great location pretty much next to one tube station with another about a 10 minute walk. Location was easy to find. Despite being in the city Very little noise heard at night. Windows in room don't open but air-conditioning is very efficient.

November 2024Overall, it was a positive stay. It's close to the underground (easy to get into the city), the self service check in was very easy, room was a good size, comfortable beds, room was a good temperature, very good shower, buffet breakfast had a very good selection. The only negatives were that I wish there were some slippers and a bathrobe in the room. The TV signal also wasn't great for a few channels. I am also unsure why I was given a room with 2 double beds when I only needed one? I would re-book this hotel again and would also recommend staying here.
