Strongroom is an eclectic and very colourful, independently-owned bar and late night venue that also happens to be home to Shoreditch’s biggest beer garden.
Perfect for socially distanced drinks; we have over 30 tables for relaxing with friends in the open air in our huge, ivy covered courtyard, which is overlooked by iconic recording studios and music industry creative spaces.
We offer a personalised but laidback service. Run by a small and very close-knit team, the venue is an oasis within the chaos of east London.
Private hire of the whole venue includes our two indoor bars, basement club/dancefloor, as well as our massive, ivy-covered and fairy lit outdoor courtyard. The courtyard has its own fully staffed outdoor bar. It also has its own speakers for music plus loads of space for games, food stalls or a barbecue. We are able to accommodate a DJ or a band, or both. It can be weatherproofed according to forecast and will be fully heated in winter, so it’s a good choice if you prefer to exercise caution in these Covid times.

Prices quoted reflect the minimum spend, which can be made up on drinks or food, or both. The minimum spend ranges from £3000 for a Monday full venue hire to £25000 for a Saturday full venue hire.
We also charge a hire fee which ranges between £150 - £250, depending on the day.

March 2025This is a new place for me and went specifically to meet a friend. Unfortunately I only had a limited time there but loved the atmosphere.. I didn't have time to try the food, but will definitely visit again.

January 2025One dimensional. It's more or less lines with a light up ball in different configurations across a few different rooms and then the cubes of bright light from the ads. The kids had fun but not more than in a field or playground. Not sure I'd go if I'd known. Maybe if it was half the price?

December 2024This place is very loud but also has a good atmosphere to take people for the first time. The bar location upstairs with lots of tables nearby is not well thought out and can lead to confusing queues or long wait times. I’d prefer to use the outdoor bar even in colder weather or remove many tables so there’s better spacing for queuing. Lots and lots of drinks selections, you can’t go wrong trying a few and staff will guide you if you aren’t too sure. Outside in summer is amazing fun and a great atmosphere; safe but open.

March 2025Wish I could of given a 0 star review. The security staff were awful and abusive. One of my two friends was really upset and crying, went to the toilets to be consoled by her friend. The security guard knocked through the door of the cubicle pulled one of the girls out BY HER HAIR telling her that your not allowed to go into the toilets together. After being searched for what I can assume was looking for drugs (which obviously they had none of) they were kicked out and we were told to take it up with management. We haven't heard anything back from the venue and really disgusted with how things were handled. These were two large men and really have traumatised these two girls. Do better strongrooms we will never be returning. If you are planning to go, I'd advise against it. Please note - we had no issues with the bar staff they were all lovley
