March 2025Where do I start? I thought they had an issue with me but it's clearly a trend from reading the reviews. I was there on Sunday for the Karaoke night. The first issue is the service charge which I see many people have an issue with in the reviews. The cheek and nerve to charge a service charge for ordering a drink at the bar! When I asked the bar lady what the service charge is for she said for serving you, I couldn't believe she could look me in my eyes and say that and not be embarrassed. I thought this was meant to be a place for the community? You're trying to fleece people out of money for things that you shouldn't have to pay for, like service charge for buying a drink at the bar. Secondly, the bar lady with dark hair and European accent didn't give me my full change and when I pulled her up on this she got very defensive and said she has had a long shift, like this is my problem. There was no apology from her and her and the other girl acted as if I was the problem for wanting my full amount of change. Absolutely shocking professionalism. I dont understand why some people work in the service industry if you can't interact with people. I dont know whether the brand of the pub has gone to the staffs head but from reading the reviews it seems like bad customer service is a trend now. Regardless of if you have a big name you won't keep it for long if you don't do the small things right like not trying to rip off customers with stupid service charges and apologising and being humble when you make a mistake.
