A local boozer. A heaven for foodies bored of the usual 'pub grub' on offer everywhere else. A place to see some of the best live comedy. A venue offering drag, burlesque and other delights. A craft beer lovers paradise. A dog-friendly drinking hole. A cult classic. A crowd-pleaser. A party venue. A place for a quiet pint and a catch-up. Venue for the local Womens Institute meetings. Occassional art gallery. A slightly weird pub staffed by friendly staff, who are sometimes a bit silly and sarcastic too.
The Old Nun's Head is all of these things, and more.
Stunning space that holds 80 guests standing. Great natural light. Music system and Air con in the function room.
Celebrating something or nothing, don’t fret we have lots of options.
Your netball team got promoted? That weird guy from the office finally left? Ten year anniversary of the first time you slept with your partner? Your sales team missed your targets for the sixth consecutive quarter?
It’s party time.

September 2024🚇 Nunhead 🍺 £6.60 Sonar Session IPA The Old Nun’s Head is one of three pubs located on Nunhead Green just south of Peckham in Southeast London. The nearest station is Nunhead, it’s ten minute walk to get here. This pub dates from the early 18th century, the present Tudor-style building dates from 1934. The pub remained closed for several years at the start of the 21st century and reopened in 2007, it is now run by Brighton brewers Laine. The decor here is traditional and retains many original period features whilst adding a few contemporary touches here and there. This is a one bar pub with a central servery which is accessible from three adjoining rooms. The walls are clad is stunning wood panels which continue around in every room. The seating is a mix of traditional tables and chairs, leather banquettes and an original 1930’s booth. In homage to the pub’s name there is a colourful mural of a nun as well as a couple of nun inspired artworks. At the back of the pub is a partially covered courtyard beer garden and also a large pavement seating area at the front. The beer selection offers a mix of mainstream brews, craft and cask options plus a range of @lainebrewco beers. I decided to try out the Sonar Session IPA, my pint was great if a little pricey. The food menu is Burgers and Hotdogs with a choice of fries and sides, roasts are available on a Sunday. We arrived around 1.30pm on a sunny Saturday lunchtime in July. The main bar was fairly quiet with the majority of punters sat at the front of the pub. The atmosphere was laidback with a local pub feel. The pub host Karaoke and live events and livens up of an evening. The service was on point, the team member who served us was welcoming and pleasant. Lots of positives to take away from @theoldnunshead . I loved the interwar decor and period features. The pub had a calming vibe and a broad range of beers. Not too shabby indeed, worth a look if you’re in the area. ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 27.07.24
